Centers after Round 7

Post#1 » by ShotBlocka » Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:36 pm

Hi guys, looking to get some help

12 teams, roto, 12 cats (fgm,fg%,ftm,ft%,3pm,3p%,pts,reb,ast,stl,blk,to)

I'm looking to pick up centres late in the draft, possibly even my first centre. Who would you recommend?

I'm looking to get Durant at #5, then Devin harris, Vince Carter, and Rose as my first 4 picks. Looking to get more scorers after that, and targeting Scola as my centre in the 7th round.

Do you think thats a good draft strategy, and what other centres should be available? I have Dalembert and Bogut in mind.

If Noah's still there, I'd grab him instead. He's had a fantastic pre-season (boards, blks, and some actual scoring) and looks like he's ready to own the C spot for Chicago.

You should get a C who provides you specially rebounds and blocks. I think Scola is a good choice for rebounds but I don't see him givin you a lot of blocks. You should get Brook Lopez instead of Vince, since Vince is easier to replace. A late pick could be the birdman, he gives you rebounds and blocks.

Noah & Gasol are 2 of my late round targets (already mentioned). Both will get you 1+ blocks (maybe 1.5+) and 7-8+ boards. Not many points for either though.

A darkhorse in the later rounds is Oden. He's a rebound & block machine and he's looked like a monster in the preseason. If he stays healthy and learns to stay out of foul trouble you could easily see a 12/10/2 stat line from him nightly.
