Trade offer: Jennings & Manu for Salmons and Nene

Post#1 » by jdubb_00 » Thu Nov 26, 2009 3:10 am

(h2h, 12 teams, 9 stand cats)

My team is:

PG Nate Robinson (NY - PG,SG)
SG Trevor Ariza (Hou - SG,SF)
G Larry Hughes (NY - SG,SF)
SF Carmelo Anthony (Den - SF)
PF Nene Hilario (Den - PF,C)
F Shawn Marion (Dal - SF,PF)
C Elton Brand (Phi - PF,C)
C Chris Kaman (LAC - C)
Util Greg Oden (Por - C)
Util Luis Scola (Hou - PF,C)
BN Allen Iverson (Mem - PG,SG)NA
BN John Salmons (Chi - SG,SF)
BN Tracy McGrady (Hou - SG,SF)INJ

Wondering if I should do the trade! I need another PG now and some assists. Unless I should do something else, I feel this is where I should head. I get Jennings and Manu....Is Salmons and Nene worth it!?

Thanks guys....quick answer would help!

Statistically speaking, you definitely got the edge on this trade.

And with the current trend of how Salmons has been playing well lately and Jennings is on a shooting slump for the past two games, this might be the best chance to buy low on Jennings and to sell high on Salmons.

That's why I'm giving you the green light to do this trade. :D

I wouldn't accept this trade. With Redd coming back, Jennings numbers should decrease, plus taking someone who is as injury prone as Manu isn't a good thing.

Salmons on the other hand is picking his game up, the only reason he's been doing so bad is because he's been shooting the ball bad. He hasn't shot this bad his whole career, so he should be picking up. Nene also is playing really well, and the only problem you can see with Nene is will he get injured?

If I were you, I would be more concerned with improving your team through the waiver wire. To Crazy's point... you can let go of Iverson for sure now because he will either retire or play a diminished role on a team later in the year. I think all of the teams have made it clear that they are not going to give him the starter minutes he's demanding.

I also think you could part ways with TMac. Who knows when is going to come back and he will almost definitely go down again for considerable time this year. He's just not worth the risk you take with him. You've missed out on a A LOT of production by holding on to Iverson and Tmac so long. Even if there replacements aren't the greatest players, they will most certainly help you be more competitve. It's hard to overcome having 2 guys on your bench that haven't done a single thing for you.

In regards to the trade, it's actually very close. I pretty much agree with Choobi because keeping Salmons and Nene is definitely the safest considering Ginobli's injury concerns and the effect Redd will have on Jennings #'s. I think Salmons is getting his game together and Nene is always a very solid contributor. I'd stick with what you have but try to work the waiver wire.
