12 Team, 8-cat Roto, Keeper league where top 5 players are kept.
Team A:
Kevin Love
Tyreke Evans
Francisco Garcia
Team B:
Andrew Bynum
Kevin Martin
Mike Miller
Ignore what these players can do this season, and think for next season and beyond. So essentially: Love, Evans for Martin, Bynum.
Who wins?

Re: Large Keeper Trade
I don't know much about Garcia, but I don't like Miller (health, uncertain role) so I'll call that exchange a wash.
Evans vs. Martin: If they stay together in Sacramento, I give Martin the slight edge b/c of his 3 pt shooting. They'll both be worse off than if the other weren't there, obviously.
But if Martin is moved, and I believe he will be (now or early next season), Evans returns to optimal production whereas it's unlikely that Martin puts up fantastic numbers on a good team. He's not a #1 option. So for a keeper league, I like Evans in this exchange.
Love > Bynum, to me. If Bynum gets traded to a team like Toronto that changes, but I think he'll stay put in LA. On the other hand, I can't imagine a scenario where Love doesn't continue to get better and better, and he's already a beast.
So all in all the outcome is largely dependent on what happens in the next few months trade-wise, but based on what we know now, I like Team A.

Re: Large Keeper Trade
I think I'd rather have Love, Tyreke, Garcia... But it's pretty close.
I too believe that Martin will be moved eventually, and while he's maintain his excellent efficiency on his new team his numbers will go down and he won't have the all-around impact that Tyreke will.
Bynum vs. Love is pretty close who the better player is will largely depend on what cat your team needs more...
I'd rather have Garcia wherever Miller goes he's going to sacrifice his game for the good of the team. His rebound advantage over Garcia is nice but I like Garcia's steals better. If / when Martin is moved Garcia will be seeing more shots come his way as well...

Re: Large Keeper Trade
Just combed Garcia's box scores from 2008-09. Wow. How is it that I'd never given this guy a look?

Re: Large Keeper Trade
Thanks for the responses guys.
I currently own Bynum and Kev Martin side.
- Is Kevin Love the real deal?
My concern with him is that he doesn't really contribute greatly to any category other than rebounds, which isn't one of the 'scarce' categories. He's ranked 31st after 21 games according to BM. Should he be considered similar to David Lee?
- Will Tyreke's value plummet?
The other bone of contention is the likelihood of Tyreke's value decreasing once KevMartin hits the floor. If I wait a week, Tyreke's value could drop a lot, then I wouldn't have to give as much. The flip side is that he maintains his value, therefore the other owner would probably withdraw the trade. I'm thinking he'll take a slight hit.
- Bynum's poor play related to injuries?
Bynum has proven that he can play solidly with Gasol last year. There were a few comments about his recent poor play was due to a few nagging injuries. While I think Bynum is a beast, do I cut my losses since Gasol extended his contract?
- Kevin Martin's durability?
Finally Kevin Martin is the best player in the deal. However we all know how injury prone he is because he constantly throws himself at the hoop and gets to the line. Am I better off waiting a week so his value increases?
My season is shot at the moment, so I'm looking to next year. My current keeper list which has to be reduced to 5 is:
Danny Granger
Gerald Wallace
Yao Ming
Kevin Martin
Andrew Bynum
Greg Oden
As you can see, no PG.
Hmmmm.

Garcia when he received minutes was a stud. I only requested the other owner include him so I could potentially go for a 2-for-1 once Cisco is back and playing.

Re: Large Keeper Trade
Danny Granger
Gerald Wallace
Love
Evans
why not try and swap these two for an upgrade:
Yao Ming
Greg Oden
Deron maybe? I'd also look to deal either Gwallace or Granger for either a big man or a pg keeper. I'd surely pull the trigger on a Gwallace / Jennings deal for example.

Re: Large Keeper Trade
My season is done, so I figure I may as well hold Yao til next season.
Only holding on to Oden if I trade two of my current keepers for an upgrade. Then Oden falls into a keeper position for me, as I don't fancy Felton as a keeper. Although that may change if he maintains his pace since S-Jax trade.
No one will trade their top PGs. Tried that already. Only guy willing to budge is the guy holding Tyreke.
