need advice for 20 team-league!!!

Post#1 » by Hintermann » Mon Sep 27, 2010 5:57 pm

my team in a 20 team head-to-head league..
cats are FGA, FGM, FG%, FTA, FTM, FT%, 3PTA, 3PTM, 3PT%, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO

pg j. jack / udrih / beaubois / d. gibson

sg j-rich / rip / matthews / j. anderson

sf wes johnson / garcia

pf p. gasol / blatche

c oden / aldrich

seems a little thin in the front court, but i think the league will be dominated by guards with good percentages because of the weird cats.. any other opinion?

it was a *** autodraft that left nothing big on the wire.. i traded away terry, bargnani, moon for blatche, hamilton, jack! hard to loose bargnani and his shooting stats, but i was too afraid of terry getting less minutes (for avoiding a guranteed contract)..

notable are:
fernandez
watson
carney
daye
arroyo
wilcox
paul george
flip murray
douglas-roberts
amundson
mbah a moute
pryzbilla

i´m leaning on waiting for pryzbilla.. dropping anderson or gibson.. which one starts the season worse..

what do you think?

with talks about dampier maybe even going to portland, their c position looks awfully crowded. camby, oden, pryz, dampier would be killing. gibson should get more minutes id take a chance on him. anderson? i dont know.

I think the cats are weird, that's what I think. The cats are constructed in a way that is going to encourage everyone to tank the percentage cats. Efficient players will only be strong in 2 or 3 of {FGA,FGM,FG%,FTA,FTM,FT%,3PA,3PM,3P%}, while gunners like Stephen Jackson will be strong in 4 or 5.

It seems to me that you need high volume shooters. It doeant really matter if they make a ton of their shots, just that they take them.

Basically your categories suggest that you should avoild efficient offensive players and instead focus on adding high volume chuckers.

I would trade Oden and try to get some value out him. There is not even a timeline on when he is going to return yet. He is very good in blk, reb, fg%, but he will kill you the first couple weeks rotting on the bench.

I agree with what is being said about the cats being set up weird. Prime Iverson would own this league. If I were you I would try to target in a trade one of Kevin Martin, Zach Randolph, Aaron Brooks, Jamal Craford, Stephen Jackson etc.
