I really don't like Granger, nobody in my league does, which is why he fell to me with the 2nd pick in the 2nd round (Got Dirk at 9)
I really wanted Deron instead of Granger, but the guy who has him won't budge.
What should I be looking for/trading for?
Any help is great help so thank you!

Re: Please Help My Just-Drafted Team!
Granger is good he's just a walking injury. Truthfully he's normally first round talent and I'm personally looking at him 6th overall in my draft.
- It's a 9 cat team so try and find 5 categories you have an above-average chance to win every week and another 1-2 categories you can quasi-compete in. After that just tank / leave the remaining 2 categories up to luck.
- The 5 cats I think you should build around, in no particular order are: PTS, REB, STL, 3PTM, FT%
PTS: Granger + Dirk have you mostly set in this category depending on how the other teams look you may need a 3rd scorer (though Westbrook may already be that third scorer).
REB: You're rebounding by committee but have some strong rebounding "wings" in Granger, Ariza, Green to complement Dirk, Gasol, Nene, and hopefully Murphy.
STL: Ariza is your linchpin in this category. You did well to assemble a cast of bigs who get the occasional steal (Dirk, Gasol, Nene, KG).
3PTM: The weakest of the 5 categories I listed, and could stand to improve.
FT%: Off the top of my head the only player on your roster who will really be a drag on your FT% is Ariza.
- As your team is presently constructed I think it would be easiest to try and trade for another 3PT shooter. Ideally you want to land someone who will make 1.5+ 3PTM per game. Someone like a J-Rich or a Vince Carter would fit nice on your team.
- I'd truthfully consider moving Westbrook as your team doesn't appear to be that strong in assists even with him on your team. Also the combined weight of Westbrook and Ariza's FG% could have a severe negative impact on that one category any given week... The trouble with trading Ariza is that his SPG is very good there's also an outside chance his FG% rises now that he's playing with Paul.

Wow!!! Thank you so much, great tips! So you think I should completely tank assists? I was thinking that If I just trade for another PG or 2 then I should be pretty solid there? I'm thinking of trading Murphy for a PG but we'll see (maybe J Wall?) Thanks again for the great advice!

I would tank assists I don't like the fact that none of your wings are above-average assist players. but...
Trading for another PG might work as well. I'm just not sure you'll get good value for Murphy given his back injury and indefinite timetable for return.
The other thing is that unless the PG you get is also a 3PT player you're basically shuffling the deck. After Granger who gets you an absurd 2.5 3PTM per game Murphy is your next highest player at around 1.5 (my guess for what he'll average this year given the Nets play-style)...
It's probably easiest to move Westbrook given the fact that he has a lot of name value.
