Melo trade effects?

Post#1 » by LGND2552 » Mon Jan 10, 2011 9:48 am

With POTENTIALLY Melo Billups and Hamilton going to NJ, Murphy and Petro going to Detroit, and Harris Favors and Petro going to Denver, which players do you think will profit and which will lose fantasy wise?

Will Murphy get a starting job/6th man role in detroit? How will Hamilton do in NJ? And with melo gone, will JR smith put up the numbers he did when melo was out? Also I'm guessing humphries will be locked in at the starting position with favors and murphy both gone?

I'm wondering the same thing.

The guys on waivers in my pool that would be affected positively I believe would be Ty Lawson with Billups gone and Harris being flipped elsewhere. Troy Murphy will likely be the starting PF or C in Detroit and be a double double machine again. The last one is Rip Hamilton who will be better and more consistent than he is now b but I wonder if he will reach what he did in years past.

Also if billups gets the buyout he wants, will farmar move to the starting position?

Lawson will be the big beneficiary I think. His numbers when starting are quite impressive and I have picked him up in my leagues where he is available.

If murphy is acquired I think Daye and Monroe may see a cut in minutes, but Monroe has been Beasting the past few weeks so he may still see a decent amount of court time.

I agree with Basketball royalty in the Rip will see a rise in his numbers, but probably not as high as a few years back.

Harris will be in limbo until his future is sorted out, so I suspect his numbers to drop significantly.

I intend to pick him up in all three of my leagues but probably not until CB is officially traded.
