Matthews and Duncan for Hibbert and E. Gordon??

Post#1 » by jdubb_00 » Wed Jan 19, 2011 1:05 pm

(H2H, 12 teams, 9 stand cats)

I'm looking for a few more assists and better FT% and was wondering if I should do my Wes Matthews and Duncan for Roy Hibbert and Eric Gordon. Hibbert has been slumping lately but I hope he can turn in around. Also, I think if the Spurs keep playing this well, they may shut down Duncan. Would getting Gordon and Hibbert help my team?

THOUGHTS?

Here is my team now (I am in first place):
PG Raymond Felton (NY - PG,SG)
SG Wesley Matthews (Por - SG,SF)
G Manu Ginobili (SA - SG)
SF J.R. Smith (Den - SG,SF)
PF Troy Murphy (NJ - PF,C)
F Rashard Lewis (Was - SF,PF)
C Amar'e Stoudemire (NY - PF,C)
C Tim Duncan (SA - PF,C)
Util Darko Milicic (Min - PF,C)
Util Andris Biedrins (GS - C)
BN Derrick Rose (Chi - PG)
BN LeBron James (Mia - SF)
BN Francisco Garcia (Sac - SG,SF)INJ

Hibbert's value is at an alltime low. regardess of playing in the 20-30 min range, duncan is still consistent at %'s rebounds blocks and somewhat scoring. I wouldnt touch that with a 100 foot pole.

Matthews clearly isnt as good as gordon but the only difference is a couple points. The difference between hibbert and timmy D more than makes up for it. Looking at your team, you dont really need the extra scoring gordon gives you anyway

Stick with duncan and its not even close. these are my reasons

matthews and duncan have no downside, either good or above average at every cat. with roy's return no where in sight i would assume they will maintain production. Duncans numbers are down but his per36 are damn near identical to hiss career averages.

gordon is good. decent % ok rebounding totals. above average in ast for his position as well as decent in 3's and steals. BUT>>>> he really doesnt do anything that much better than matthews

HIbbert on the other hand will straight up kill you in FG%. god knows how many 2/10fg games hes had. He is showing no signs of returning to his early season form, his minutes have actually gone down throughout the year.

very similar to last year, strong start, horrible middle mediocre finish. That will sum up hibberts season.

I would.

The little positive I see with the return is still not debatable.

Yeah Hibbert has been really disappointing this year.

At the start of this year I was willing to give up a fair bit for him and Hickson, luckily in hindsight the trade was rejected.
