Big last min trade. Gasol, Thornton for Duncan, Hinrich.

Post#1 » by LAKERS_1981 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 7:37 pm

This is a deep 20 team Head to Head league.

I will get Paul Gasol and Marcus Thornton but he will get Tim Duncan and Kirk Hinrich.

Gasol 19 pts, 10 reb, 53 % fg, 82% Ft , 3,6 ast, 1,7 blk

Duncan has avg 13 pts, 9 reb, 49% fg, 70%, 2.8 ast, 2 blk

What i like is more PTS for Gasol, great FG and FT and AST

In this i get a great Deal but

This is the x- factor
Thornton has not been getin min for Hornets but was traded to Kings and his min will be up. He had avg 16 min but i think the will get close to 25-27 min for Kings.
Hinrich has been playing about 30 min for Washington but he was traded to Atlanta and his min will be simular but i think will be close to 35 min.

Thorton avg 8 pts, 41%fg, 76% FT, 3 reb and 1 ast in 16 min for Hornets
Hinrich avg 11 pts, 45% fg, 87% FT, 3 reb and 4 ast in 30 min with Washington.

I know that Hinrich is a bettar fantsy player then Thornton but i think Thornton will close the gap a litle with more min.
But i think Gasol has been better then Duncan and this is a close call.

What do you think?

I worry about Duncan because Pops is going to start to limit his minutes. Duncan does have a better playoff schedule but Gasol is quite a bit better then Duncan so Hinrich has to make up that gap...which I don't think he will. Throton, as you mentioned, is going to start to get a good chunk of minutes, has the best playoff schedule possible, and IMO, you won't be seeing much of Tyreke the rest of the year. Kirk is nice and I grabbed him in my league, but I wouldn't expect a huge jump in assists. JJ runs the offense too much, and Smooth and Horford are capable passers as well.

Unless you really, really need assists I wouldn't do this deal.

^ He's getting Gasol/Thornton.

I like it, mainly because TD will be getting shut down for sure.
