Billups

Post#1 » by flip_sanchez » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:28 am

We held our draft last aug and i drafted billups in the 5th. Our league is 14 team 9 cat. I worry a little because i drafted billups as my primary pg. This really suck

you're right, it does. he was extremely undervalued before this amnesty; he's a low-end legit no. 1 pg. dunno why jrue holiday was being drafted over him, and i love jrue holiday.

now? it could be terrible for his value. chances are it will be.

that said you shouldve done your draft later, esp with the lockout leading to a 10-day or whatever it is FA period

as is always the case in fantasy basketball:

build your team around PGs and PFs. they better be PGs and PFs or they better put up #s like PGs and PFs. preferably both. inexcusable to have teague/bayless as your two other PGs. you need to work out a trade ASAP

your lineup is tough to trade. bynum, garnett are tough to trade, id want to keep bosh, smith is really good...

i'd trade wade. batum. casspi sucks and i'd drop him for james johnson (or better; depends what's out there).

how many teams is this league? your bench can be improved

id grab cj miles if he's still available. good reports from camp and i am confident one of cj or hayward gets the job done for uta.

wade/batum for PG/whatever of value.

fortunately i like teague a whole lot. 1.7 spg and 40% 3pt in 7 games as a starter last year in 26 mpg. joe johnson caps his value but steals, 3s, decent assists works for me. best case scenario is prob 13/5 with 1.5 to 2.0 spg and 1.5 to 2.0 3pg. that's very playable.

billups should be a decent no. 2 guard on LA. he can also play the 2 if/when gordon gets hurt. billups has size, shooting and gets to the line; those things age well. his efficiency could very well go up. maybe 15/5 with 3s/FT%. he won't be sexy but he could push for top-50 value nonetheless.
