Need a big man at my 14th pick (a very deep draft), who?

Post#1 » by Kirsten19 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 5:28 am

These big men are on my shortlists:

Glen Davis (will he start in Orlando?)
Camby went undrafted
Jordan Hill
Mozgov
Jonas Jerebko
Bismack Biyombo
Spencer Hawes

BTw, who's a better rookie pg? Brandon Knight or Fredette?

I know that you can't take a whole lot from preseason games but Jordan Hill looked really good in the one that I watched. Seems like he'll be getting a pretty good amount of playing time because they weren't able to bring in any free agent bigs.

I'd like to hear other's opinions on this as well because I don't really feel like I know what I'm talking about.

I think that Knight will be getting lots more playing time than Fredette.

as long as big baby is set to start, him by a mile.

i think he sucks IRL but i think he can pump up inflated stats for your fantasy team and be ez to trade because he's picked up a name many casual folks can recognize

Will Spencer Hawes make any impact?

I think Jerebko will be starting much of this season alongside Monroe and I expect him to play more of a 4/5 role instead of a 3/4. I liked him and see him as an under the radar type player that could be a great sleeper.

I'm in the exact same boat.

I Can't decide on

Mozgov - Seeing some good upside here
Jerebko - agree with Yuri about jerebko, but also Maxiell and Wallace will eat some time at 4/5
G Davis - Solid scoring stats but wont give true center stats
Hawes - when he is good, worth owning but he's usually inconsistent

Now i think Jordan Hill is no longer on the list

Mozgov
Jerebko
Glen Davis
Hawes
Biyombo
D. Favors
Camby

I rate all 7 of them similarly.

Camby is not getting any younger and more and more injury prone, or else he would by far be the best big man in the last round;

Glen Davis will be playing in a 3 big men rotation, i think even if he doesnt start ahead of Ryan Anderson, he'll play 30+min per game anyway. But he doesnt really give u a typical center stats, owners should be glad if he manages to grab more than 6 rebounds and have 1 block a game. He is a good post scorer though. So very high FG%, FT% for a big man n points

I like Favors, but Jazz have a crowded frontcourt. Mozgov has the same problem too with Al Harrington, Birdman and Faried fighting for one starting spot

Hawes is a guranteed starter. A good rebounder but very onconsistent. I hope he can be more mature and play more consistently. He can be a sleeper imo

BTW, DONT draft Biedrins! He is inconsistent, injury prone and has no offensive game. He will also be competeting with Udoh and Kwame Brown for the starting C spot;

Bismack Biyombo is a bloacking machine. Listed at 6'9" but has a 7'6" wingspan, he averaged 3 blocks a game in Spanish bball league(arguably the 2nd best bball league in the world), and had triple double in the rookie challenge match earlier this year.

I dont think Diaw will play C for the entire season, Tyrus Thomas is a PF and he can't play C at all. I think Biyombo has the optential to become a sleeper. Afterall, Bobcats have a very very thin frontcourt. It will be a 3 big men rotation of Biyombo-Tyrus Thomas and Diaw.

Is Camby worth keeping onto given his injury history and his upcoming MRI?

I'm wondering if I should pick up Hawes or Udoh or Mozgov.
