To veto or not to veto that is the question...

Post#1 » by stephGRAHAMbury » Tue Jan 17, 2012 3:49 am

I'm the commish of a 20 team keeper league and here is a trade that two teams agreed upon:

Amar'e Stoudemire
Nick Young
Delonte West

For:

Kyrie Irving
Matt Barnes
Derek Fisher

Is this a vetoable trade or should I let it go? The guy trading for Kyrie is a huge Cavs fan so I know that is playing a bit of a role in his decision, it's also unlikely he hangs on to Fisher.

Lol that's funny. Normally it'd be an easy veto considering Amare is likely an early 2nd round pick compared to Kyrie being drafted around the 5th round. BUT considering how BAD amare has been, and how phenomenal Kyrie has been... it's starting to look not THAT bad.

I would definitely consider the person getting Amare to be the winner of the trade by buying low on Amare, but if your friend is such a big Cavs fan, and he offered the trade, I guess you can't stop him from getting the player he wants. Ultimately it's up to you though...

I would say to ask the guy getting Amare to add in a little better deal, I don't think Barnes has very much value at all, and Fisher will have very little as well once Blake returns.

No. It's not vetoable. Yes, the guy who is getting amare is getting the edge on this deal but it's not that lopsided to be veto worthy.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I ended up letting the trade go through, the funny thing is not to long after that the guy getting Kyrie had buyers remorse and was kicking himself for pulling the trigger on the deal
