1. compare injury risk for these #3 players.

a. Gallinari has a severe ankle injury. he's out for at least a month and he's expected back by March. note: he's got an ankle sprain, plus a previous "chip fracture" that he's been playing with, but still putting up good numbers. FYI-Gallinari is scheduled to wear a boot for "only" 4-5 days, and then begin rehab, therefore lean towards expecting him by 1st of March, a the latest.

b. Gordon hasn't really tested his knee out yet. given he's not doing anything strenous yet on the court, i.e. running or playing, etc. the HORNETS are going to be conservative about playing him ALL OUT anyways, cause he's currently ALL they have. timeline should be in mid-March as well before we see him play, but still questionable given his progress is pending.

c. Randolph - making good progress and is healing on time. they are expecting him back in early March as well. he's still in shape at 30 years old, so his conditioning NOT a concern here.

are you hedging these 3 players based on "return to play" for each or based on the CATS you need?
based on injuries for each, i would make those 2IR spots for Randolph and Gallinari.
