Should I Drop Antawn Jamison now?

Post#1 » by Spicy P » Sat Feb 4, 2012 10:12 am

I've decided to dump Antawn Jamison because the guy is killing my FG% and FT%. I don't recall him ever shooting this badly from the field and the line. I've already tried trading him to most of the managers in my league and none of them are interested. Here's my roster:

PG Mike Conley, Mem PG
SG Monta Ellis, GS PG, SG
SF Joe Johnson, Atl SG, SF
PF Carlos Boozer, Chi PF
C Andrew Bynum, LAL C
G Tyreke Evans, Sac PG, SG
F Hedo Turkoglu, Orl SF
UTIL Antawn Jamison, Cle PF
UTIL Tim Duncan, SA PF, C

Bench Spencer Hawes, Phi C
Bench Tyrus Thomas, Cha PF
Bench Michael Beasley, Min SF, PF
IR Brook Lopez*, NJ C

10-person Rotisserie league and I'm hurting in blocks and rebounds with Hawes and Lopez out and my 3PM needs improvement. There's a lot of decent options out there to replace him with such as Jared Dudley, Gordon Hayward, Landry Fields, Nikola Pekovic, Trevor Booker

Nikola Pekovic is an interesting pick up considering how bad/inconsistent Darko has been. But I don't know if it's worth it to drop Antawn. I mean, even with bad percentages, he's still getting like 30 minutes a night. Those numbers should start to get better as the season goes on.
If you're desparate, I'd swing for Pekovic, but if you're already near the top in the rankings, I'd keep Antawn. Just my 2 cents.

Wow, I can't believe this guy starts playing better as soon as I drop him. I can't even get him back because someone picked him up immediately.

I didn't get either of those guys. I picked up Jeremy Lin, but I'm still mad because I could have gotten rid of Tyrus Thomas who's stinking even with the increased minutes and a starting role. Could have dumped Turkoglu too.

Jamison is the second best player on the Cavs ... As far as I'm concerned, he shouldn't have been dropped in the first place...
