Heading into our trade deadline I'm considering splitting up one of my studs. It's a competitive league and some of the guys read here but don't know who I am (as far as my user goes) so I'm just going to talk about rankings.
The guy I'd be giving up is a PF/C ranked in the 12-15 range on most big boards.
The guys I'd be getting are a PF/C ranked in the 30-35 range. And a SG in the 30-40 range.
I need points, and steals primarily. The PF/C I'd be getting gets a litle less blocks (0.6 compared to around 1.0) and shoots it a little worse (.450 range vs .490s range) but other than those two areas... there's a lot of statistical similarities at the moment (points, FT%, attempts, rebs. The SG in the 30-40 range would provide my team with some much needed extra scoring (20ppg guy with .460 FG% and high FT%) and is a pretty special steals guy as well.
When I look at the deal on paper for my team it seems to make sense. I get a boost in points and can play a less dimensional steals specialist less. I usually like being the guy who gets the best player in the deal offering 2 guys and taking back 1 but what do you guys think about getting two players normally ranked in rounds 3 or 4 for a guy normally taken in the 2nd round?

Earlier in the season I was offered Bynum and Griffin for Rose, and I've regretted not taking that ever since. 2 for 1's aren't always bad, if you have that end of the bench scrub that you don't mind waiving.
I'd say do it
