Sell high on Jordan Crawford? Him & Parker for Batum/Conley

Post#1 » by Eazy E » Tue Mar 6, 2012 6:02 am

I offered another manager Wes Matthews and Tony Parker for Mike Conley and Batum. He denied, saying he wanted a better player than Matthews (I would've done the same). Here is my current line-up, I'm thinking the best player I could give him without giving up too much is Crawford. Also, I don't expect Crawford to keep up his recent string of good games, especially with Nick Young coming back in the mix at some point. And I'm assuming he undervalues Conley. I also think Tony Parker gets lower minutes closer to the end of the season to rest him for the playoffs...

Here is my roster (10 person H2H league, normal categories)

Russel Westbrook
Tony Parker
Isaiah Thomas
Jameer Nelson
Jordan Crawford
Mo Williams
Wes Matthews
Steve Novak
Kevin Love
JaVale McGee
Brandon Bass
Andrew Bynum
Andrea Bargnani

I am now thin at SF as I just dropped JR Smith for Jameer Nelson and Caron Butler for Mo Williams (I am not in a position to hold on to players, I need to win now or risk not making the playoffs). Batum has been one of the most statistically efficient SF's this year, and I'm ok with giving up Tony Parker to get him (I'm considering giving up on assists and upgrading in other stat categories) esp because I'm getting Conley who is the league leader in steals/game. Is Crawford the right player to give up? If not doesn't accept Crawford who do I use to counter offer?

He won't pull on that deal. I'm considering throwing in McGee (who knows how he produces the next 2 months). Parker/McGee/Crawford for Batum/Conley? ...I would probably pick up whoever the best available FA is (and there aren't too many left...but Varejao is due back in two weeks and he's still a FA).

Do I pull that counteroffer?

Ya I'd do that. You're still getting the two best players in the deal.

i dunno about that. you really need mcgee's blocks. you're buying super high on batum; if he doesn't live up to 90% of what he's shown recently you're screwed

i'd reluctantly accept cuz varejao's on the WW

I was telling another manager in our league about this trade and how I don't know if I wanna do it for sure or not. He's offering me Kyrie Irving and Ersan for the same three players. I'm a Bucks fan, and I still don't know about Ersan's consistency. Who knows when him and Skiles go on the outs and he gets benched for the majority of games...

Which trade is better?

he's smoking crack

edit:

Anderson Varejao (wrist) admitted that he still can't grip a basketball in his right hand.
Varejao's fractured right wrist is feeling much better, but this isn't a promising sign. He's approaching the four-week mark and the strength in the joint clearly isn't there. We're expecting a new target date once Varejao meets with doctors later this week.

dun think i'd do the deal anymore. i think varejao's blocks are how you replace mcgee. yes i know batum is blocking 1.5 shots recently. no i don't think it's sustainable. yes if it is sustainable you win the trade by a mile because batum will be a top-25 player
