2 year break, return draft feedback?

Post#1 » by Sofia » Mon Oct 15, 2012 6:23 am

Haven't played for a few years, playing again in a one year H2H 12 team standard 9 cat league. I got stuck with the 12th pick of the draft.

I'd appreciate some feedback on both team build and draft positions. I normally don't mind being end of the round, but this was tough having been out of action for a few years and with a 60 sec pick live draft. I found myself reaching a few times because my watch list would be empty in the 22 picks between my 2 minute windows, so pre draft planning was out the window.

Player (overall pick)

PG- Irving, Kyrie (13)
SG- Iguodala, Andre (36)
G- Matthews, Wesley (60)
SF- Dudley, Jared (85)
PF- Aldridge, LaMarcus (12)
F- Boozer, Carlos (61)
C- Gortat, Marcin (37)
C- Brand, Elton (84)
UTL- Crawford, Jamal (108)
UTL- Stuckey, Rodney (109)

BN-Splitter, Tiago (132)
BN-Asik, Omer (133)
BN- Green, Danny (156)

edit. Oh shhhhhi.... just saw the sticky at top of forum. Please relocate if this thread is a problem, mods.

I'm not a huge fan of Boozer or Gortat but they should produce. Although you may want to trade Boozer before he gets hurt. Wait for him to have a monst game then trade him.

Generally I liked your draft until here:

UTL- Crawford, Jamal (108) - Not sure he will get minutes in LAC. The don't need him at PG. He may get time at the 2.
UTL- Stuckey, Rodney (109) -- We are still waiting for him to break out right? He puts up ok numbers and but he may have gotten better value at 109.

BN-Splitter, Tiago (132) His minutes will be very unsteady. Popovich will play matchups usng him, Diaw and Blair and Curry is actually looking good.
BN-Asik, Omer (133) -- This was an excellent pick.
BN- Green, Danny (156) Stuck behind Leonard and Manu but who cares it's your last pick. When a FA looks good scoop him up.

Appreciate the feedback.

Stuckey I've never been keen on, but I remember a friend raving about Stuckey last year, it may have just been a hot stretch. I got caught on the clock at that point and made a panic pick.

Crawford, I'm hoping I can sell high after a few weeks. Billups won't be rushed back, and Willie Green has been trash so far this pre season (Clippers fan). From what I've heard, Bledsoe may get the push into the starting 2 spot, freeing up more reserve minutes for Crawf as the 6th man.

Green I grabbed for when Manu goes down with injury.
