I'm in need of some rebounding and someone offered me Varejao/Klay for my Josh Smith. I'm in a 12-team H2H, 9-Cat league, but we are only setting our lineups once a week on Sunday night. I've been dominating the last couple weeks. Can Varejao keep it up? I'm hoping with the emergence of Larry Sanders, I won't be missing blocks too much. What do you guys think? Since we also only set our lineups once a week, I still need to think about making room for Nash when he gets back. What to do??
This is my team:
PG-Stephen Curry
SG-Wesley Matthews
G-Randy Foye
SF-Gordon Hayward
PF-Josh Smith (Replace with Varejao)
F-Danilo Gallinari
C-Serge Ibaka
C-Larry Sanders
Util-Kevin Seraphin
Util-Alexey Shved (Replace w/ Klay)
BN-Nene Hilario
BN-Ray Allen
BN-Steve Nash (INJ)
His team:
PG-Goran Dragic
SG-Nicolas Batum
G-Dwyane Wade
SF-Klay Thompson
PF-Kenneth Faried
F-J.J. Hickson
C-Anderson Varejao
C-Kevin Love
Util-O.J. Mayo
Util-Aaron Brooks
BN-Ersan Ilyasova
BN-Nikola Vucevic
BN-Jonas Valanciunas

Interesting deal. Let's sit on it for a bit. I am inclined to accept it, though.

The fact that you have Ibaka and Sanders means that your team blocks should be fine. I'd pull this trigger considering Klay will be a big upgrade over Shved once Rubio comes back. At the same time, Varejao's posting about 1.5 steals per game this season which should make steals a wash. But you definitely gain in FG%, FT%, treys, points and rebounds with that trade.
I'd say pull the trigger.
I'd say pull the trigger.
