Pau Gasol: What's his value?

Post#1 » by WhiteMambaLol » Thu Jan 10, 2013 5:21 am

What is Pau's value going to be when he comes back from this concussion, considering D12 is out, he will surely play a lot of minutes and get the ball inside a lot.

Do you think I should pose trading either David West or Cousins for Gasol?

I don't think West will get you Gasol but I also wouldn't send Cousins away the way he's been playing. He can probably land you more than Gasol.

Gasol is going to be hard to peg long term. If it's not the concussion then it's his the plantar. If you can get Gasol as cheap as something like David West go for it, but I wouldn't over spend on a player who's name will probably demand more.

Thanks. I agree with you, but seems people in my league underrate DMC badly. They all whine about his fouls (cause my league stupidly has PF as a 10th cat). I can live with his fouls if he is putting up 23 and 12 with 2 or 3 steals and pretty good ft% for a big.

Ziguana predicts that David West will be 33rd ranked (according to my league stats), I don't see it. When Granger comes back he will chuck up a lot of shots and take away from Wests production, and lately he has just been playing awful.

No, DMC just straight up sucks in 9cat. He's 64th in 9cat leagues, but most guys act like he's on the verge of becoming an elite big. Kills you in FG% and TOs. Simply can't finish around the rim. You're going gaga over a 5-game sample size? Check out his shot chart:

Every year he's added MORE shots from 16-23 feet despite being terrible from there. He's brain-dead. Shot selection is a skill.

That extra cat. does hurt Cousins. And unfortunately you league seems fully aware and sees through Cousins perceived value.

As far as West, a site like that can't factor in Granger into the equation. That would be awesome to get that kind of value but I don't see it happening either.

Well over the past 10 days he is ranked 31st (with my cats). Averaging 52% fg, 73% ft, 23 pts, 13 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals. The bad is obviously the 2.7 TO's and 4 PFs.

If he gets traded away from Sac I could see him becoming the dominant force he has the potential for, and a good coach that can teach him more discipline and to learn to foul less, i think its possible. And like I said, people in my league don't like him so they wont trade me someone inside the top 40 for him, and then its not worth trading him. I just will hope in the playoff weeks he goes off like has been currently

I don't he's getting traded this season with the team being sold, and their front office maintaining they wont trade him. I don't think it matters if he gets traded anyways, so I wouldn't put too much thought into that 'what if'.

It sounds like your in a league with your friends. I think they are talking crap about DMC to get YOU to think lower of him. DMC is an easy target.

I would make some offers based on his strong production recently and see if anyone bites. Although they talk crap about him, there is still something intriguing about him-- that's why people talk about him.

People have this notion he can be a top center in the real NBA, and therefore add that kind of value to their fantasy team. -- I personally don't agree.
