Hey guys, got a question.
Im doing a draft this weekend and to be honest, I am not nearly as in touch with fanstasy basketball as I am with football in terms of talent for a fantasy league.
I know its a 9 cat league, but I do know just like other fantasy sports, the mid round/level players you find often win you championships. For instance players like this won me my league:
Brook Lopez- He was a block/rebound machiene who also didnt kill your percentages categories. He was awesome and I got him almost for free.
Nikola Jokic (sp?): Picked him up off waivers and he was a awesome utility guy who filled up multiple categories. Another reason I won the league.
Jae Crowder: Got him really late, turned into a steals, block and 3pt machine.
Aaron Gordon: Like the others above, was a helluva waiver pickup.
Who are those type of guys to target this year who will look to way out perform their value that you can target in the mid rounds?
A few names a have already saw and thought about targeting are Joel Embiid, Devon Booker (Klay Thompson for 1/2 the price) and Stanley Johnson.
Thoughts?

Re: Best Mid Round Talent?
Along with Embiid and Booker, D'Angelo Russell is slowly climbing up the ladder these past few days before the start of the season. And I believe the latter would be a better option than the other two players mentioned. Philadelphia will be extra careful with Embiid and they still have this logjam issue they will need to resolve. Booker on the other hand could secure a starting spot in Phoenix, but I think a part of it depends on the situation of Brandon Knight. Russell can get all the usage he wants with the Lakers, and he'll be running this team now.
Among other mid round value picks for me includes
Jeremy Lin = no competition in Brooklyn
Jabari Parker = been playing well since the latter part of last season
Steven Adams = Double double potential.
Enes Kanter = same as Adams.
Thaddeus Young = Round 3 caliber, slid due to the projected decrease in usage. But has been shooting more 3's.
Rodney Hood = could capitalize on Hayward's absence.
Danny Green = I don't see him getting worse than last year, so any improvement would be a bounce back.
Markieff Morris = Good finish last season, should get continuity.
The list goes on.

Gorgui, Fournier, Parsons if he stays health are some other good choices. He's not sexy but Dirk is cheap enough these days that he could return a couple rounds of value.
