Two trades in the NBA over the last couple days who will benefit and who won't.
Jusuf Nurkic to Portland Mason Plumlee to Denver- Nurkic (winner) should be Portland's starting center which means a huge increase in playing time. Plumlee was averaging 28 minutes per game so Nurkic should as well. Plumlee (loser) will take a minutes hit. He will now be backing up Jokic. Faried may lose some minutes he was getting at back up center but should continue getting power forward minute when he gets healthy. Darrell Arthur (loser) likely loses minutes to Plumlee. Jokic and Plumlee will not be one the court together much. Jokic and Nurkic didn't play well together and Plumlee and Brooke Lopez were not compatible on the court together with the Nets.
Serge Ibaka to Toronto Terrence Ross to Orlando - Ibaka (push) could see a slight increase in minutes but a decrease in touches as Toronto has two stud scorers in Lowery and DeRozan. He could see a slight tick up in efficiency. It likely costs Pat Patterson and maybe Lucas Nogueira some minutes. I see a bigger hit to Patterson as Nogueira has been coming off the bench and is more of a center. Sullinger and Rookies Poeltl, Siakam (losers)will see limited floor time as Toronto makes their playoff push. Terrence Ross (winner) should now be become a starting wing next to Fourier. Another big beneficiary of the trade should be Aaron Gordon (winner) who should now be seeing plenty of minutes at his natural power forward position. Jodie Meeks (loser) likely sees a minutes cut when he returns from injury.
