Andrea Bargs between 20-30 pick?

Post#1 » by rocketsballin » Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:49 am

all the rankings have him mid to high 30s. am i the only one considering taking him between 20-30?

he's their best scorer now w/o bosh. already got 6rbs, 1.4blks w/ bosh. wouldnt he avg something like 20/7/1.7blks/2 3pters, fg% in the low 40s . that alone should be considered for top 20. if their rookie bigs dont pan out how could he not get more than that?

If he fit's your squad well then I wouldn't stop you from taking him that early. However if your first and second round picks are low FG% guards, taking Bargnani as your main big man could severely hurt your team in that category. If you do take him, try to get a guy like Carl Landry at the end of the draft who has a high FG% and score a lot to balance out Bargnani.

I usually flop either FG or FT so with bargs just flop FG and target players like B davis etc, players that fill intangibles but suck FG% wise. i found that where pts rebs ass stats like that tend to be constant, the % fluctuate with players every week. They are the hardest catogory to win week in and week out. Thats my personal 2 cents though.

and yes bargs will have a big year.

He will get over 20ppg being the focal point and go to guy. He is a decent defensive rebounder, he just sucks at offensive rebounds so 7-8 isnt out of the question, He is improving on blocks so 1.5+ isn't out of the question and he is a good passer for a big man so 2 would seem about fair.

21ppg/7.5rpg/1.7apg 1.6bpg making about 2 3's a game is what i expect for bargs production.

Another reason bargs goes so high is the intangibles shoots good FT for a C, gets 100+ blocks a season, can shoot the 3

Rebounds are easy to come by, finding a player who gives 3's and blocks... priceless

im ok w/ low fg% players. i do make an attempt to keep my team from tanking fg% but its not a priority. most times i tank 2 categories, turnovers and either fg% or pts. i purposely tank turnovers, but the other stat is cuz of how i draft. sometimes they're not that bad tho, which has happened last 2 years so im gettin better :D. i'll try to be at least decent in pts and fg% but its not my main concern.

bargs is both pf/c who he makes his fts, above average 3s, good w/ blocks, and help a bit w/ asts. its too good to pass imo. its not like dwight where he kills one stat, u can still be top 5 in fg%.

If he did go up to 2 threes and improve his rebounding a bit then he's fine in that range. Forget about small raises in PPG it's easily the most overrated cat in the game.
