Why is Nene still a top 30-40 pick?

I dont get why he's still rated so high. Last season he got less blocks, even with KMart being injured and Anderson getting less blocks. Now they got Al Harrington who needs shots to be effective. Take away some steals and rebounds but not that much.
How is Nene gonna be rated that high with the addition of Harrington and Kmart in and out of the lineup, and maybe eventually be able to play more consistently towards the end of the season? Only way i'd rank Nene so high is if Kmart plays 30-50 games.

Nene is rated so high because of everything else he does besides blocks. He is a points/rebounds/steals/fg% machine. And his blocks are still good too.

Nene is also a decent passer. He's 1 of 5 centers that finished with 200+ assists last year.
David Lee 295
Carlos Boozer 247
Tim Duncan 246
Pau Gasol 218
Nene 203

The Nuggets big man rotation for the first two months of the season will consist of Harrington and Shelden Williams, an addition to Nene. He's guaranteed a lot of minutes, will have to pick up the slack on the boards, etc. If Melo is gone, then there will be even more shot opportunities for him as well.
That and he is as consistent as they come. That's why I always like to draft him.

Yeah I don't get it based on his usual production. Nice enough defensive stats but he doesn't stand out anywhere that makes up for no threes and pedestrian assists, FT% and points.

Awesome fg% on a fair bit amount of shots usually can shoot up a players value. His rebounds, blks, points are all solid. Assists are good from the bigman spot.
1) He brings more to the table when compared to most bigs that are behind him in most rankings.
2) He's a center and they always come at a premium anyway.

i made 4 teams this year, and made a point not to draft him. his inconsistency last year was infuriating.
he was supposed to be MR intangibles yet went on a spurt during the end of the season where he had like no blocks steals and severely dropped the ball rebounding.
i would take bargs, murphy, M. gasol, duncan, love, noah, bogut over him all of which are ranked worse

Yeah I'd take most of those guys over him.

am i the only one who thinks harrington will affect nene's stats? they brought him in to help with inside scoring, since they dont have any relaible go to guy in the paint. i'd everyone but murphy and maybe love over nene on that list.
for a 5th or 6th round he's solid, but imo he's a bit short to be picked at 28

You forgot to mention he has been a significant injury risk for his entire career.

i'd try to trade him if he was on my team. i hate picing players who've been injured most of their career. if they put ttogether 2 straignt healthy years i'll feel better about it but still wont be automatic pick for me. i never thought i'd see nene play 82 games ever

Nene is going to play more games than most of the guys on the list above.

Nene isn't going to be good as your first best big, but he is pretty solid all-around. He has only missed five games in the last two years so injuries don't concern me one bit, his steal numbers are very good for a big man (the only PF or C with more last year was the awesome Josh Smith), and he is a solid contributor in a number of other categories.
I have no problem with a big man who contributes 14-8-2.5 with a close to 60% fg%, a decent 70% ft percentage (for a big man) and a block and steal per game.

Nene was the 17th best player last season, cumulatively, in 9cat rankings. A good part of his value is that he doesn't turn the ball over, so if you were playing 8cat, he was 26th.
Either way he was good.

but what is the deal with the blocks? shouldnt he get more with martin injured? and now they got harrington. if those 3 are healthy how is nene NOT gonna have a significant dropoff in his stats? they need more scoring bigs, and that's exactly what harrington is.
if kmart is out half the season again then nene's value wont drop. but that's what your banking on? kmart's contract year?

Nene's been good whether KMart is around or not. KMart played 66 games two seasons ago and Nene was still 28th overall.
With Carmello possibly heading out of town, KMart hurt, and Andersen hurt, I have no idea why anyone would be afraid of Nene.

anderson is gonna miss more than 12 games or only 5 or 6? is kmart gonna play half a season in a contract year? wat about harrington? how is he not gonna effect nene's stats? nene's blocks went down last season, the same season kmart was injured? missed more games than the season before? how could nene get less blocks?

more than 12. yes. harrington won't affect nene's stats much. if he does, it will get him him benched. the rest of your questions i don't understand.
