Will Collison put up the same numbers as Deron?

Post#1 » by rocketsballin » Mon Oct 11, 2010 7:00 am

18-20pts, 8-10asts, 1 stl/3pt, goodd fg% and ft%, 3rbs?

This may be an obvious question, cause i definitely think he'll do that, especially in Indiana. Is there something i'm missing? That the PnR game will effect him?

I'm trying to trade him but the other guy is treating him like an actual 2-3 round pick. I'm guessing cause it isn't 100% certain until he shows it on the court. (but he did that in New Orleans right?)

No he won't. My bet would be 15 points, 7 ast, 2 to, 1.5 stl good ft and decent fg.

any reasoning as to why he cant be at least 18/8 . pacers are worse than hornets, so he should get more stats?

37 games (as a starter) is not 82 games, he had free reign in NO last year while O'Brein runs a much tighter (and of course different type of offense. I'd like to challenge you to name 1 point guard who averaged 15/9 over the course of a season in O'Brien's offense. Thing is, O'Brien is one of the worst coaches to have around for your fantasy PG.

What works in Collison's favor, though, is his experience with the pick & roll in college. He might be able to use that in O'Brien's offense.

Also watch out for his to's.

I see more of a 15/5, 1 steal, 1 three kind of game from Collison this year. With To's by the bucket!

I think 15/7 is a good possibility...i couldn't find a PG that did 15/9 in Jim O'Brien's system, though I'm pretty sure AI had 30 and 8 one year with him (I know that is a different situation but he was playing some point I think.) TJ Ford, who I don't think is as good as Collison had 15-5 two years ago, so you never know.

I wouldn't expect Deron numbers though...

For some reason I expect his assists to fall...

I'm agreeing with loot here on the assists and such although I could see his scoring remaining fairly high, maybe 17 or 18ppg.

No more then 17/8?
I understand he lit it up statistically in starts last season, but I really don't think people realize who Darren Collison is, he's not that good.
17/8 for his career, hell for a full season as a starter would be fantastic for Darren Collison.
He's a middle of the pack starter IMO, both this season and career, he's no star...
