BURIED BY CURRY (2010-2011)

Just going to keep this one thread for my primary team for the whole season... Only so much I can reveal given the fact that some of the players in the league post on RealGM but here goes:

Teams: 16
Type: Head-to-Head
Roster Size: 10
Roster Positions: PG, G, SG, SF, F, PF, C, UTIL, BN, BN
Categories: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO

(6) Stephen Curry (GS - PG)
(27) Al Jefferson (Uta - PF,C)*
(38) Manu Ginobili (SA - SG)
(59) Andray Blatche (Was - PF,C)
(70) Rashard Lewis (Orl - SF,PF)**
(91) Tyrus Thomas (Cha - PF)
(102) Beno Udrih (Sac - PG)
(123) Mike Dunleavy (Ind - SG,SF)***
(134) Wilson Chandler (NY - SF,PF)****
(155) Carlos Delfino (Mil - SG,SF)

---

*Original plan was to take Marc Gasol and Andrea Bargnani with my second and third picks but Jefferson fell and Bargnani was drafted before my 3rd pick.

**A major run on three-point shooters began here, Jason Richardson and Ray Allen went back-to-back and given the time until my next pick I had to nab a 2+ 3PTM player then if I was going to have another one in addition to Curry.

***Regret this pick because Dunleavy was on no one else's radar. Could have rolled the dice with someone like Artest but his efficiency problems concerned me (though ironically enough I took Delfino with my last pick)

****Internet disconnected while I was drafting and I was picked Wilson Chandler. Wanted Mike Miller at the time but given his recent thumb injury I might have dodged a bullet even though Chandler doesn't fit my team that well.

---

I'm thinking about going after another three-point shooter depending on what happens with Mike Dunleavy and am considering moving Chandler and Tyrus Thomas (would tank blocks in this scenario)... I'm kind of in a situation where I'm respectable in virtually every category but not too dominant in any so I'm taking a bit of a wait and see approach...

So I have an offer of Al Harrington for Tyrus Thomas on the table and am tempted to accept it... Any thoughts?

The only thing holding me back right now is that as presently constructed I still have a good shot at beating the bad and mediocre block teams with Tyrus... Also what would be some good players to trade Carlos Delfino for (straight up 1-for-1)?

I don't really want to deal with his inefficiency and the players who I could pick up off waivers are risky plays at this point in time.

I was really puzzling over where to rate Harrington for my draft tomorrow because of the way Denver blows up the board and everyone gets theirs and the fact that Melo may or may not be there. But in the end if you are looking for consistent solid numbers, I tend toward the PF/C player at that level rather than the SF/PF simply because of the shooting percentage and blocks #'s. Rebounds can be a tossup because Harrington is not small and plays at the 4 often despite the fact that he is more naturally a 3.

Your team looks really nice.

With the way that Larry is going to be switching out players it looks like guys like Tyrus and Diaw will have SF/PF and C eligibility (Diaw might even end up with PG/SF/PF/C). Not sure if you put any stock in that?

Either way, Larry Brown LOVES Tyrus Thomas and the feeling is mutual. That being the case Tyrus is projected to play around 30mpg. If it were me, I would be hanging onto Tyrus.

As far as Delfino for a 3pt specialist goes - wonder if you could get your hands on someone like Belinelli? Rasual Butler might also fit that need. Another would be Quentin Richardson who would also give you boards - but you already have Shard and I'm not sure if you avoid carrying team mates.

You know I was actually leaning towards the deal just because it sets me up as pretty much unbeatable in 3PTM and at least on paper doesn't really drop me in my other big category STL... But I read this:

http://ownersedge.fanball.com/nba/player/791/notes

And have cooled again... But what about Tyrus for Danilo?

Don't know if I can get that one through (Al deal is pretty much on my plate until whenever), but Tyrus is a perfect fit for the owner who has Gallo and Gallo doesn't fit as all given that he's his only 3PT shooter

I think Gallo for Tyrus (based on what you are looking for) would be a great trade for you - and one you could easily pitch to the other GM as being fair.

I went ahead and offered it, along with a few other trades. So let's see what happens next :)...

Did he/she go for Gallo for Tyrus?

I wish... The guy who has Gallo is being a bit irrational and instead of giving up his ONLY 3PT option in a trade he's trying to acquire more 3PT shooters... I have a few trades sitting out there I'm waiting to hear back on one for Mo Williams (might offer one for Terry), but might be resigned to accepting Tyrus for Al...

I just want to make sure Harrington's foot isn't too bad as I read that when Chris Kaman had the same injury he ended up missing about half the season that year

edit:

What I'm considering now is going all-in in a few categories, I'd look to move Jefferson+ for a big-time AST player and then follow-up with the Harrington trade if need be...

Got screwed today with Rashard and Wilson not playing due to the postponed game but... It's looking like my team will be pretty solid in: 3PTM, FT%, TO, STLS and barring an unpredictably bad week like I had in week 1 FG%.

What would be fair value for Beno Udrih in a one-for-one trade (I'm looking for a big who can steals and who has good FG% but there aren't many)?

I'm looking to move completely out of assists.
