10 team league, 9 standard cats, roto.

Tell me what you think please: Negatives, positives, suggested upgrades etc.

D.Will - Westbrook - Jarrett Jack
Joe Johnson - JRich - Mayo
Iggy - Gay - T.Will
Bosh - Shard - Diaw - A.Randolph
B.Lopez - Horford - Oden - Monroe

We protect 13 players at the end of each season and expose 4. All exposed players go into the draft with the rookie class for our yearly draft (4 rounds).

Last night (our draft night) I drafted Monroe, Diaw, Shard and Jack.

Appreciate you taking the time.

No clue where to begin... It's too hard for me to critique roto teams especially when I don't know what the other teams in the league are

Overall your team seems good. Looks like it'll be light on the blocks though.

I placed last our 1st season because I drafted my team using a 5 year plan based on youth. The plan is working because last season I climbed up to finish 3rd. Winner had 65.5, 2nd had 64.5 and I had 59.5 and we are about to go into our 5th season. Not sure if that helps paint a picture?

Nice pick up on the blocks. It was my 2nd weakest cat last season (ranked 5th) and only 2nd last because I punt TO's (which was my worst cat - 3rd). I'm keeping everything crossed that my patience with Oden and Randolph (carried them for a couple of years now) will eventually pay off this season and take care of my blocks.

I'd like a stronger 3rd string PG - one that lights it up from three would be ideal.

Aaron Brooks maybe? Mo Williams? In a straight up trade, who on my roster could bring back someone like Brooks or Mo?

Steph Curry would be PERFECT for my team but the owner of him is completely unreasonable and would never trade him in a million years.

It's going to be hard to land a PG like that without giving up significant value. Rudy Gay for Brooks seems pretty fair but for you that's a straight tradeoff of STL for 3PTM if you're fine with that you could try offering it...

A guy who's value will go down over the next few years but who you might want to consider is Jason Terry. I don't think Jarrett Jack for Terry straight-up will net you JET but it's worth a try.

If all else fails maybe consider moving Diaw (since you seem pretty content with waiting on Randolph, whom I personally don't like, and Oden) or Diaw + Jack... I'm in a 16 team league with 10-man rosters and at least over here we have some decent players on waivers so I would imagine if you look hard enough there are a few hanging around in your league as well, so parting with the do-it-all Diaw might not be as bad as it first seems.

sounds like a smart owner to me ;)

your team has a lot of bad karma - guys who have wronged their fans (bosh, joe johnson) - guys who are a danger to society (jrich) - cheaters who take illegal money from boosters (mayo) - players with low bball iq (gay, jrich) - guys who dont earn their money and are underachievers (shard, diaw, randolph, oden, iggy) - freaks who text pics of their dongs (oden) - too many ohio state players (oden - cause any ohio state player is 1 too many) - guys who cry on tv cause they didnt get picked by the bobcats (lopez). in reality your pgs are the only likeable players of the bunch. rid yourself of the bad karma and you will change your future.

:)

 Knew it was just a matter of time before you found this thread!!

Pretty sure that Greg Monroe has sex with farm animals too!!

Thanks mikhailjordan. I appreciate your input.

The guy who has Brooks has a pretty bad lack at the C position, so I was thinking about tempting him with Monroe. Probably wont be enough to get it done, but might be enough to build on.

A guy who's value will go down over the next few years but who you might want to consider is Jason Terry. I don't think Jarrett Jack for Terry straight-up will net you JET but it's worth a try.

I like the idea of Terry, just not sure what sort of impact Buckets will have on him - and JJ for that matter.

If all else fails maybe consider moving Diaw (since you seem pretty content with waiting on Randolph, whom I personally don't like, and Oden) or Diaw + Jack... I really think that Diaw is about to have (another) break out season. Larry Brown is going to use him at the point, the 4 and the 5. Should bode well for me - plus I need him 1+ three pointer made per game.

I would have liked Okur for that same reason (three point shooting big) but with him being out so long he wasn't worth the wait.

Every year someone or something is supposed to happen that reduces Terry's value but I've owned him the last 2-3 years and that someone or something has never panned out :-)... I personally wouldn't be too worried about his stats falling off this year. Terry finds a way to play himself into the rotation no matter what.

In my opinion JET's post all-star stats last year are a good baseline average of what to expect this year: 15 ppg, 4 apg, 1.8 3PTM, 1.1 SPG, 30 mpg.

You figure if Kidd plays 36 mpg again* and Beaubois starts and plays 32** that still leaves around 28 mpg for Terry.

*I think the Mavericks will try to reduce the older Kidd's minutes this year more than they will Terry's.

**Beaubois will be the "starter" but I feel he's a bit of a situational starte as there are going too be times (even when the Mavericks are switching who Kidd and Beaubois are guarding) when he just gets overwhelmed physically and his minutes will be reduced.

Carslile has a bit of a wacky rotation but things even out in the end. The other thing I like about Terry, is that since he's been in Dallas - especially compared to other guys who get you close to 2 3PTM a game (Gallo, Lewis, etc.) - he has historically been a monster from an efficiency standpoint.

Look at these raw FG% #'s:

2004-2005: 50.1
2005-2006: 47.1
2006-2007: 48.4
2007-2008: 46.7
2008-2009: 46.3
2009-2010: 43.8

Last year was a bit of a down year but 44% is still acceptable from a jump-shooter.
