Andre Miller for Tyreke Evans

Post#1 » by Crackfool » Sat Dec 4, 2010 12:04 am

12-man H2H league. Someone offered Tyreke Evans for my Andre Miller. Here is my team:

Stephen Curry
Kevin Martin
Wilson Chandler
Amare Stoudemire
Al Horford
Andrew Bogut
John Wall
Serge Ibaka
Wesley Matthews
Andre Miller
Arron Afflalo
Daniel Gibson
Travis Outlaw

I'm thinking of turning the trade down. Miller has been very, very consistent with FG%, FT%, assists, and steals. Evans has been shooting poorly, and has been bothered by injuries. Plus, the only advantages he provides over Miller are points and rebounds, in which I rank #1 and #3 in, respectively. My weakest categories (other than turnovers) happen to be steals (#5) and assists (#6).

Take that trade and run. Tyreke Evans' upside is far too high to turn this down for a guy like Andre Miller.

Even on Evans worst night he is better than Miller. Who the heck offer this?

He just got 16-7-9 on his off night the other night!

Andre Miller's numbers:
46.5% FG (11.5 attempts), 87.5% FT (3.6 attempts), 3.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.9 steals, 2.7 turnovers, 13.6 points

Tyreke Evans's numbers:
40.1% FG (16.5 attempts), 74.7% FT (5.0 attempts), 5.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.6 steals, 3.6 turnovers, 17.3 points

Miller is clearly having the better season right now. Evans does have more potential, but is also dealing with two injuries that could hurt his value. Also a thing to note is that I'm currently #1 in my league (with a rather sizeable lead), and a good reason for that is because I beat opponents in FG% and FT% every week.

since he offered u tyreke for miller, it is fair to say he really values miller and is discounting evans due to his slump. I would push the envelope and see if you can get more. If not, i would do this straight up. You always take the best player, and evans overall stats will do you much better than getting an edge in just two (FG and FT %). Miller is having a good year, but this is perfect fantasy and real life economics, buy low, sell high. If you are worried about losing a pg, im sure you can find a serviceable pg on the wire. That would include lowry till brooks comes back (he may not be there after tonights game), calderon might be there or daniel gibson, etc

EDIT: Failed to realize you already had boobie, still your choice if you want another pg

He did offer to throw in Shane Battier, Rip Hamilton, or Carl Landry. Out those three, I'd say Battier probably has the most value, but I don't know who I'd drop for him (probably either Gibson due to my glut of guards, or Outlaw). PG isn't a concern, since Evans has PG eligibility. It's the plantar fasciitis that worries me. When he's healthy, Evans is amazing no doubt. But he's playing injured, and may sit out several games to rest up.

i would try to pry battier from him, he looks like a poor mans AK47 (when AK47 would occasionally get you 5x5 games). I suggest getting rid of outlaw and then boobie in that order. Even if you decide in the end that you do not want tyreke, you can always try to pawn him off a noob who looks solely at yahoo's o-rank

I'll probably sit on the offer for a couple of days, and see what the word on his injury is.
