I'd give a vote for Josh Smith as well.

How so? Smith only averages more stls than Gasol. In all other cats Gasol has him beat and doesn't hurt you anywhere, while Smith hurts to/ft%.

CP3, Durant, Gasol, Curry, Love, LeBron, even Westbrook, Horford and Amare all deserve consideration.

Overall though it has to be Chris Paul as he's super reliable and uber efficient, while being the runaway best option for his position. Anything can change though as it's still very early in the season.

Very slight advantage in blocks this season, but a pretty big advantage for Smoove in the past few seasons. Combine that with the fact that Smith has hit a fair amount of threes (something Gasol can't do) and I can see an argument for Smith over Gasol as well. Plus the inevitable Bynum return and their age differences should be taken into consideration.

Either way that's all "fantasy value" and not "fantasy production". Gasol is the better fantasy player right now, but Smith probably carries more value.

You could arue. It's kind of a preference thing.
