So Close To Winning It ALL!

Post#1 » by sosa » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:49 pm

Our playoffs end this week (April 3rd)

18 team Keeper League (2 players each year)
$65 entry fee
1st place - $320

5th year in the league (Won the championship in year 3 - '08-'09)

Had a good chance to win last year but Chris Paul's injury and the fact that I didn't pick up Collison...lead me to a 5th place finish.

Here's my team:

C. Paul
D. Howard.
J. McGee
D. Gallinari
T. Allen
J. Holiday
J. Farmar
J. Dudley
T. Hansborough
R. Foye
G. Henderson
J. Childress

My Opponent's Team (finished 1 game ahead of me in the regular season)

A. Stoudemire
C. Bosh
T. Parker
J. Richardson
G. Arenas
L. Odom
J.R. Smith
J. Green
George Hill
L. Fields
Ed Davis
S. Hawes

I'm up 9-0 going into tonight's games. Wish me luck. This would be my 2nd championship in this hardcore 18-team keeper league.

Are you starting Childress? If so, I love how deep your league is

I started him for one game, just picked him up off the waivers and he went for 10 pts shooting 5 for 5.

It really is a good league...lots of activity but not a lot of trades. Everyone is super tight when it comes to evaluating their own players. The commissioner of this league was killing the regular season with a team built around Durant, Wade and Love. Then he decided to move Wade for depth (combination of Boozer, Conley and scraps). Boozer goes down and then Love falls off and the result was...losing in the first round to the 8th seed.

Our waiver wires are so bare the best player I could've picked up for tonight's set of games are, Matt Barnes, Delonte West or ... I don't even know.

It's over. 7-3.

I'd like to tip my hat off to myself for winning this super competitive league. It's my second championship in 3 years.
