h2h league, standard 9 cat, 3 keepers

CP3 and Amare are locks. The 3rd keeper is between Raymond Felton, Dorell Wright, Kevin Garnett. Who do I roll with?

If Felton gets moved somewhere where he'll play 35 minutes a game I'd go with him. He was awesome to start off the year and has still looked solid in Denver. I don't think D'Antoni had anything to do with him making a jump, he just got better. If he's stuck in Denver then I'd go Wright. He's got a nice established role in GS and if/when one of Monta/Steph is traded (hopefully Monta) he should get some more shots.

I don't trust KG's knees going forward. Too much of a gamble for a keeper.

^ Agreed. KG too old. Felton not enough of a lock for minutes. Dorrel Wright will be over rated going into next year, but should still make for some solid value if you don't have to take him in a draft.

Well I'm leaning towards Wright too. I just wish his fg% could be a bit better.

I wouldn't keep any of those guys.. it's Kobe or nothing..

Those are sort of low key options when Stat and CP3 are your top two and I wouldn't mind seeing who else you have on your team before I make a final judgement. That said, lets look at the three guys on your list (who are all pretty good)...

Felton - He should see mid-range starter's minutes in Portland, but he's going to be playing in the leagues slowest offense, and in an offense that doesn't need him to dominte the ball. He should be solid, but it won't be like his New York numbers.

Wright - Kid had a great year. Sadly, the team isn't playing Nellie ball any more and I think we'll see more usage for guys like Curry and Lee, which should depress Wright's counting stats a little. What will depress his counting stats even more is that he's unlikely to repeat last season's mark of 38.5 mpg. He'll be good, but he won't be top 20 good like last year.

KG - He's too old to keep this year IMO. He was the best player out this bunch last year, and might even repeat that next year, but he's not a long term keeper option IMO.

That leaves you with Felton and Wright, out of whom I'd keep Wright. You already have a stud PG in CP3, and despite my reservations about the system change in Golden State, I still think Wright outperforms Felton next year, especially for 9 cat play.

Probably too late to matter but I'd keep Garnett. Wright is a swingman who had a career year. HELL NO he is not an option.

Felton is a very good PG but like Fenris said, POR is not fantasy friendly.

Garnett's a solid won't-kill-you-anywhere dude who people tend to underrate because of that. If it's a 9-cat league he's pretty awesome due to his lack of TOs.

Felton. He could be a good assist and steals partner to Paul. And besides, it's hard to win the assists cat than the big man cats like rebs, blks, etc.

as someone stated above, felton is in a slow paced offense and maybe a third option in portland. dorell might not duplicate his numbers last year, thats the problem for me. garnett is old but he doesnt kill your stats. but for 1-2 years keeps, i have to go for garnett.

Well Felton was never the first or second option in any team he has played for. But he will be a starter now in Portland and is expected to see ton of minutes running the offense. I expect him to earn the same averages as he had back in New York.
Dorell would be a good option but i think the stats he got last year would be hard to duplicate. They now have Klay Thompson who, if Monta stays, will play some minutes at the 3.

There is no way in hell Felton averages 38+ minutes and puts up 17/9 with nearly 2 spg. If he was still on NYK he'd be a 3rd round pick. The Knicks averaged 95.6 possessions, tied with the Nuggets for second. Portland was second-to-last at 87.9. This isn't a new thing either; Nate McMillan's teams have run methodical, half-court offenses for quite a while.

There's also the chance Brandon Roy is healthier. In that case the ball will be in his hands a lot more often, and Felton lacks the shooting ability to successfully play off the ball.

Felton will go back to his Bobcats numbers -- another franchise that runs a plodding offense.

There is a chance - a small chance that is.
Felton would play PG with Portland.
Felton will get big minutes, unless they're planning to make Patty Mills the starting PG.
