overrated, moving to NO hurts him. in general young players with a productive season under their belt are massively overrated in terms of how likely people think they are to cash in on their fantasy upside

(46) Marcin Gortat C

good, not great, value. gotta worry a little about robin lopez.

(51) Danilo Gallinari SF

a wee bit early but i dont mind reaching for studs

70) Andrew Bynum C

good value

(75) Roy Hibbert C

whole lotta upside, really like his game

(94) Hedo Turkoglu SF,PF

trash. maybe he has a decent year but i just hate this dude, i hate how out of shape he is, i hate everything about him. no upside imo

(99) Arron Afflalo SG

baller

(118) Paul George SG,SF

love him long-term but i dont like him for this year because of how raw he is. doesn't do anything particularly well, which is a problem. and a 6'10 SG?

(123) Jimmer Fredette PG,SG

terrible. think his career is, at best, a good bench player. could lucksack into value if the kings try to showcase him but he'll quickly prove he's not and never will be an NBA caliber starter

(142) Drew Gooden PF,C
(147) Vince Carter SG,SF
(166) Mario Chalmers PG
(171) Tristan Thompson PF

awful picks, drop all of them

starkiller you're good, you have a general idea of how the game's played and dont need much help. id rather hear your reasoning on who and why you like/don't like instead of me straight up giving you advice

the crowing, your roster's good but you messed up by taking rudy gay. that should'v be been a PG. and once you have melo/gay you do NOT need thornton, whose upside is capped playing in a dumb kings organization that thinks fredette doesn't suck. drafting PG/PF is so important because then you get stuck with zero-upside players like devin harris because you cant afford to take risks on dudes like brandon knight (who has incredible upside this year, more than irving imo)

teague is a stop gap and really does suck. billups is legit so dont worry about him. rubio is upside so keep him. meeks is a stopgap and you dont need 3s. you can drop him for better. even if he's starting he wont have much trade value down the road and detracts from your team's flexibility. hill needs to be dropped.

but you have a good idea for value so you're in good shape

hersh:

trade bait: j-rich, wallace (even if you like him more than i do, which i have no problems with, j-smoove makes him redundant), bargnani (you really overvalue points imo), cousins, beasley (you REALLY overvalue points), harris

drop: hansbrough

keep: jack

everyone else should be fair game because your team has awful flexibility.

who to acquire: flexibility. names like lamar odom (most undervalued player in fantasy), brand, j-kidd, nash, brandon knight, nene, boozer, ak-47 (high risk high reward, if he signs with NJN top-50 value), diaw, afflalo, bosh, landry, lowry, billups, kg, duncan

baconlube:

you fell for the hype wrt wall/gordon but otherwise you know your ****. i like jermaine o'neal more than hayes and dalembert. mo williams needs to be gone yesterday. you got too many good players so your league is a 10-teamer or you're playing with idiots

Apathy: Thanks man, I've played Fantasy NBA for awhile, it's my favorite fantasy league so hopefully I've gotten pretty decent at it. As for guys I like, a lot of (including me in 3 leagues) are thinking Paul George is a sleeper and I'd agree. He's starting at SG for Indy and the 2nd string SF so he should be getting at least 30 mpg. At 6'10'', he'll be tough to guard for wing players, plus, w/ Granger as the other wing and a better rep as a scorer, the better defenders will focus on him. PG is a pretty good jump shooter and super athletic. Yeah he's still raw, but if he's polished up at all he should be a real good fantasy player. I think he'd be good to grab you around 14ppg, 6rpg, 1 or 2 3pg, and a steal or two per game. Good late round pick.

I try compliment my players in the best way due to what they are good at for their position, and what they lack in. For example on one of my teams I have a Dirk/Horford PF/C combo. Out of that, Dirk will anchor my FT%, scoring, and 3's while giving me a decent amount of rebounds. Horford will anchor rebounds, FG% and throw in good scoring as well. Backing them up w/ shot blocking big men like McGee and Jordan who also help rebound, I don't really think I can get better production from bigs than if I had Howard on my team.

Basically, if you have someone who excells at one stat, say Steve Nash for FT%, Assists, 3's.....pair him w/ another player who plays his position (G) to boost what Steve isn't so strong in, while helping add too his already gaudy numbers in his prime categories. So I think pairs with Wade, Rose, or Monta w/ guys like Nash, Williams, Kidd, or Rondo can make your backcourt locked down and hard to beat. Guys like Gordon and hell even Kobe Bryant, can be overrated in the sense that really all they give to you is scoring.

IMO, you always want to anchor down your PG positions and your big man postions. You can compliment them w/ wing players who specialize in respective positions categories. Like a SF who grabs boards (drawing a blank on this one so I'll just say Lebron lol) or a SG who can get some dimes (Monta).

glad you've joined this wonderful game. did you read anybody or just did your own research?

who do you think looks good on WW?

i don't mind rubio -- i don't mind stashing him or tossing him to ww. depends who's out there. you need a 3rd PG though so maybe you keep rubio. if he doesn't work out you trade for one during the season. but if brandon knight's out there you drop rubio nao.

he's heating up:

paul could be top-rated player this year so first of all, find better competition. 10-team leagues are kinda boring because there's so much valu you can't capitalize on floating on the WW. 2-for-1 trades are the name of the day. don't be afraid to seemingly overpay.

the guys i like on your team (who will exceed or match expectations): paul, anthony, harden, garnett, hibbert
the guys i don't like: basically everyone else. i'm neutral on stuckey and maggette but prefer to avoid them

trades: bynum and evans for an elite PG. d-will if you're lucky. nash, rondo, any of 'em. evans for lowry straight up. you can do a lot cuz evans should have good trade value. evans/bynum/maggette for elite pg/high-upside throw-in.

drop butler, young, possibly maggette for some 1337 talent on your WW. carl landry? brandon knight? it's a 10-teamer so maybe even better talent than that. afflalo? varejao?

poop: your first 5 picks were splendid. frye slight reach. brand and gasol steals. matthews prob good at the time but iffy now. derozan too one-dimensional. afflalo baller, stuckey blends in marvelously with your needs. good squad.

crowing: throw out names and based on those names i'll throw out more names and/or agree with the n ames you threw out. it always depends league-to-league but no matter how competitive the league is i guarantee there are guys of value and upside out there

kirsten:

if TOs count love's better imo. not a big deal, but just saying.

your first 6 picks were wonderful. i hate the **** out of cousins and can quote a write-up as to why if you're really that curious. tl;dr version: fouls too much, admitted to being the shawn kemp of the offseason, terrible FG%, turnovers, ton of depth in sacto

douglas is awesome. turkoglu is one of my least favorite players but at that ADP a good value. 10-12 suck and should be dropped. for who? james johnson, jermaine o'neal, matt barnes, glen davis, josh childress. all of 'em are or may be starting, all of them may be available (they're available in my 14-teamer with allegedly elite competition so -shrugs-)

lol you drafted davis so never mind

you're pretty good. i dont hate perkins or casspo or delfino, i just think there's better out there. if you disagree keep your guys cuz **** appeal to authority.

@starkiller: i agree george has ridonkulous upside. he shot 29% from 3 tho (off my head so dont kill me if i'm wrong) so he needs to improve that drastically.

"...I don't really think I can get better production from bigs than if I had Howard on my team." agreed.

"
IMO, you always want to anchor down your PG positions and your big man postions." yup. most important rule of bball imo

^ PG also played for a horrible coach who's offense was just chucking 3's all the time for half of the year too, with Vogel and a more traditional offense, including PNR w/ Collison and West, he should get better looks on his 3 shooting and that should go up.

Pretty sure I have an awesome team, but never hurts to get additional opinions. 12 team H2H, standard cats.

3. (33) John Wall PG
4. (40) Greg Monroe C
5. (57) Danilo Gallinari SF

10. (112) Thaddeus Young SF,PF
11. (129) Derrick Williams SF,PF
12. (136) Landry Fields SG,SF
13. (153) Ed Davis PF,C

Reached a little with Wall, but I do think he'll do well, and at that point it was him or Kevin Martin (perennial injury risk), Holiday (less upside), or Nash (old, sucked post-ASG)

^ I would snag Toney Douglass for sure. Anyone in Pringel's offense will be a solid stat padder, especially w/ Ty, Melo, and Stat on the team, a lot of dime's and 3's from Douglass.

wall was good value actually; i think i have him ranked 31st or so. and he has great trade value. his ADP is 17.

you reached on monroe (i have him ranked 53rd) but stole gasol (i have him 33rd or so). i think teague is more of a flop than not but he shouldnt be terrible until hinrich returns. thaddeus young is intriguing but looks like a classic tweener. he needs to get a 3-point shot or get his FTA up really soon though or he risks becoming a nobody. d-will is good value since his ADP is around 85. ton of talent but his opportunity is opaque. fields is fine but may flop due to shumpert. ed davis is good but i worry about his fouls. good upside though.

hate wallace a@ 26, lee's good value @ 31. chauncey is fine depending on when the draft was held. ray ray and odom were steals. chandler is rock solid. i worryabout TT because he fouls so damn much; i don't think he has as much upside as most assume. but he has tons of opportunity so it's put up or shut up time. rubio's fine if not optimal. last 4 picks are bleh, especially rip and brooks. but if AK-47 doesn't sign not bad. as far as rookie SGs go tho i like burks more.
