The Waiver Wire
http://games.espn.go.com/fba/addeddropped
Kevin O'connor said that one reason the team decided to trade Mehmet Okur was to open up more playing time for Derrick Favors.
Beat writer Steve Luhm suggests that it could mean Favors might play 30-35 minutes per night. He'll be used at both power forward and center, and the arrow on his fantasy stock is pointing way up right now. Make sure he isn't floating on your waiver wire.
add favors now. if you're in a deep league. he is amazing. if you can't add him now watch him like a hawk. i'm skeptical about 30+ minutes because he fouls too much.
downgrade paul millsap. millsap could be traded soon
Mike Brown is still undecided on his starting small forward.
"I'm jumping back and forth between Matt and Devin," Brown said. "Just looking at the practices in general will give me a little bit of a better idea." No matter who starts, Barnes, Ebanks and Metta World Peace will all see time at the position this year and it's highly unilkely any of them have fantasy value outside of very deep leagues.
keep an eye on this situation in deeper leagues. artest can play the 4. don't think much of ebanks but i haven't seen him play much. (i will soon since i live in LA county.) i think the world of matt barnes.
also of note:
if you havent heard by now mehmet okur is on the nets. he will see 30+ minutes. add him now.
other news and notes:
curry's ankle will be a recurring issue. add klay thompson if you're in a deep league with not much out there. major upside. if reggie williams could carve out numbers there...

Re: The Waiver Wire
Not convinced on Favors alleged upside because he's playing behind Milsap and Big Al, at the same time he's going to fighting for minutes against Enes Kanter. I bet he'll see around 24 mpg this season.

Re: The Waiver Wire
the upside he has is undisputable, but i agree his chances of capitalizing on it are fairly low
the bigger problem imo are his astronomical foul rates

Expect Kanter to be a non-factor this season.

Re: The Waiver Wire
yes
incidentally Jermaine O'Neal looked fat as hell yesterday. he'll foul too much or get hurt soon or both. he has no fantasy value. feel free to drop him if i ever recommended to you to pick him up and you listened

Re: The Waiver Wire
spencer hawes is a must-add imo. contract year, doug collins just nutted all over him, he's the only legit center on the roster aside from vucevic. near trip-dub w/ 1 to? why not?

Re: The Waiver Wire
What do you think about Gerald Henderson? Will he keep it up? I have Maggette on my team and he has been really disappointing so far. I was expecting a big fantasy year for him since the Bobcats had such a terrible team.
Should I pick up Hawes as well? I just recently added Dalembert to replace Brook Lopez, but Hawes is looking good.

i just posted hawes was a must-add
henderson was a good value pre-draft day and he's a good buy now for cheap points. he will hurt FG%/TOs though.

I just dropped Ryan Anderson for Tyson Chandler...what you think? I have a large amount of scoring on my team.

TOs don't count in my league. Would you drop either Ben Gordon, Paul George or Corey Maggette and pick up Henderson if you were in my position?

Re: The Waiver Wire
Our league:
10 teams, Roto, 8 cat (FG%, FT%, PTS, RB, ASS, BLK, STL, 3PM), my first year and everyone else's too.
I need assists, steals and points.
Big Men:
I'm trying to get Greg Monroe off waivers for Amir Johnson. Good move?
Other options would be Hawes, Millsap and in a week or so Tyrus Thomas. How would you rank Monroe, Hawes, Johnson, Millsap and TT considering my need for assists, steals and points?
G/F:
I'm thinking about dropping Nick Young and/or Corey Maggette.
Possible trades:
1. R. Allen <-> N. Young + Amir Johnson
2. P. George + R. Anderson <-> C. Maggette + Amir Johnson
I highly doubt any of those trades go through and as I said I also want to get Monroe for Johnson, so who should I pick up and for whom out of Young and Maggette?
I was thinking about Marshon Brooks, Gordon Hayward, The Jimmer, Mo Williams or James Johnson (sucked against the Mavs though). Also, Jared Dudley and Landry Fields are on waivers.
How would you rate George, Hayward, The Jimmer, Mo Williams, Young, Maggette, Brooks, J. Johnson, Dudley, Fields overall and considering that my team needs steals, assists and points?
