Last place, can I turn it around??

Post#1 » by Draft2007 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 1:29 am

I've been hit with injuries to 2 of my top 3 picks and my team is a mess right now and I'm stuck in last place. This is a 12-team H2H, 9-cat, non-keeper league. I'm weak on FT%(D12), 3ptm, and horrible in Assists. I've been getting beat by at least 40 assists a week so I'm thinking the best move would be to put assists unless I can pull a Rondo from somewhere lol. Hopefully when Gordon comes back he will give me a boost but I'm getting beat pretty bad every weak. Does anyone have any suggestions on who to package to make my team better? I've been trying to trade Lawson because I think his value is as high as it will be and his assists are useless to me right now.

PG- Ty Lawson
SG- Eric Gordon(IR)
G- Iman Shumpert
SF- DeMar DeRozen
PF- Demarcus Cousins
F- Kris Humphries
C- Dwight Howard
C- Marcin Gortat
UT- Al Harrington
UT- Brandon Jennings
BN- Zach Randolph(IR)
BN- Marshon Brooks
BN- Nate Robinson

Notable FA: Jason Richardson(waiver), Tony Douglas, Devin Harris (waiver), Jared Dudley, Trevor Ariza, Derrick Williams, Ramon Sessions, Derrick Favors(waiver), Richard Hamilton

Drop Zach Randolph and grab Byron Mullens asap if available.
If he's not grab Markieff Morris.

You first need to determine what stats do you want to punt and to win. And right now, I think it's best for you to punt 3pt made, TOs and FT%. And win points, rebs, blks, stls, FG% and assists.

I'd trade Gordon for ROndo/Conley +X.
Gortat + Nate Rob for Bynum + PG (assists) or SG (ppg).
Al Harrington for Blake Griffin
Humphries + Nate Rob for Irving

You're not going to be able to make those trades - maybe the Gordon one if you're lucky.

Thanks for the help guys. I actually had a deal for Rondo earlier in the season (Humprhies and Derozen after the 5 3 game lol) but it was veto'd. I've also been offering Gordon around but it seems like everyone in my league is shortsided and scared by his injury. I ended up offering Lawson and Cousins for Amare and Hedo. Thoughts??? I live in Sacramento so I see every Kings game and Cousins is just way too up and down for me. When he was kept away from the team he had no value so I'm liking that a few good games could help me upgrade to Amare even though he's not exactly tearing it up right now.

My thought is to punt assists and ft % and try to upgrade on 3's, steals, points, rebs, and blks. If the Amare trade goes through I'm left with little at the PG. I'd like a guy that scores decent, and gets steals and 3's not so concerned about assists. Any ideas on who to target/trade to get a PG now? I would like to get rid of Derozan and was thinking of trying to package him with Harrington

DO NOT drop Zobo some team will pick him up and stash him away. Just stand pac for now. Be active on the wavier wire (I see you have Brooks great pick up) it's still too early to panic yet.

I'd drop Zach, there's some decent FAs out there. I'm pretty skeptical that Zach will come back and be effective this year. A guy as big as Zach coming back from a serious knee injury in a compressed season? Doesn't sound like a good situation to me.

Can't worry about another team picking up Z-Bo when you're last place. By the time he gets back (March), the hole you're in will get deeper and deeper. You can hold on to him if you're playoff bound.. but last place and trying to turn it around? Now is the time to drop him.

See if you can get someone like D-Wade if you're trying to trade Lawson, and hurry before he's back and starts playing at his usual level. Lawson is ranked 30 on the year, Wade at 33. Sell the other owner on Lawson's higher %s, lack of injury risk, ast numbers etc etc. Wade will definitely shoot better than 44% on the year (he's usually around 50), and the rest of his numbers will pick up.

That's best case scenario, but yea drop Z-Bo now.
