Drop S-Jax for Hawes?

Post#1 » by Jay_Hawk » Wed Jan 25, 2012 3:32 am

Hey guys, I'm thinking about picking Manu up off the waiver-wire-- but looking for some second opinions before doing it.

Right now, I'm in first place in a 12-team yahoo h2h league, fairly competitive, $50 buy-in. Here's my team as it stands:

John Wall
Tyreke Evans
Kyrie Irving
Nic Batum
Paul George
Stephen Jackson
Carmelo Anthony
Amare Stoudemire
Marc Gasol
Kris Humphries
Samuel Dalembert
Derrick Favors

Clearly I'm punting T/O's and for the most part FG% (I could also use more assists). The guy for me to drop would be Favors, as I've basically been hanging onto him for upside and until somebody of Manu/Horford/Z-Bo's calibre inch closer to a return (Lopez was recently picked up) although S-Jax has been pretty horrible as of late also.

Manu might be another four weeks until he returns, so I want to know, does anyone else think he might be worth the wait for me?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: As oppose to creating a new thread, re-posting my team, etc...I figured I'd just give this a bump and ask a new question: Should I drop Stephen Jackson for Hawes?

With the team I have now, I'm not too sure if I *need* his blocks and rebounds over Jackson's threes, steals, and possible assists. But as always, I'm interested in your guys' input.

Is he worth the pick-up for my team?

Also, I ended up dropping Favors for Manu...so disregard the former.

Yup, I'd drop Favors for Manu. Then find a deal where I can use S-Jax as a sweetener.

Thats exactly who I dropped him for. And I'd love to find a trade scenario where I can package Amare with S-Jax, my problems been finding the right suitor for it. I've currently offered someone my Amare + Batum for his Curry + Harden, but I doubt he ends up accepting.

Do it. Hawes was a late scratch last night and is looking to come back by next week. Jax once again is in the doghouse in yet another team.

I'm still kind of on the fence a bit. Only because of Jax' potential for threes and steals...

On the other hand, I know there are a slew of teams' in my league that require exactly what Hawes does, so picking him up might give me even greater trade fodder. Also, a PF/C rotation of Sammy D/Amare/Humphries/M. Gasol/Hawes would be pretty reliable.

There's a good chance I do the transaction, I think I just need one more push :D

Hawes isn't playing tonight. Probably better off waiting another week to get a clearer picture on both players.
