Calderon on waiver wire!

Post#1 » by page » Fri Feb 24, 2012 9:23 am

Yesterday someone in my league dropped Jose Calderon (just to pick Marshon Brooks). I thought he would be a great addition to my team (assists and decent percentages), but just don't know who should I drop. I've got 4 point guards, so my first thoughts are Jrue Holiday or Jeremy Lin.

PG: Rondo, Irving, Holiday, Lin
SG/SF: Harden, Joe-J, George, JR Smith
PF/C: Love, Millsap, M-Gasol, Boozer, Pekovic

What are your suggestions on this one?

I'd drop Smith.

He truly is the weakest link in my team, but I've got 4 SG/SFs combined...

Well does it affect your games played? Would it force you to sit guys?

If not, then its not a big deal. SG/SFs are less valuable in fantasy than PGs anyways.

It's 10-team rotisserie on ESPN, 8-cat (without turnovers).
I considered Bankshot advice and decided to drop JR Smith & sign Calderon.

Why should I trade Millsap/Boozer/Rondo/Johnson, Apathy? I know that Joe-J and Boozer don't contribute as much as earlier in their careers, and I realize Rajon affects my FT%. But what are the other reasons?
(It's hard to trade anyone in my league, few players seem to be inactive).

3s, scoring, assists. adding calderon gives you two guys who get a ton of assists but don't score. one of them has to go. calderon offers too much value over jr smith for him to be the one to go. jr smith gives your team much-needed 3s/scoring, but you should be able to trade rondo for a better version of jr smith and substantially improve your team.

and because rondo is so talented you should explore shipping him out with a couple of other players with warts

Unfortunately, someone grabbed Calderon before me, due to his higher waiver order ;/ Instead of two pass-first PGs - and ton of assists - I only have one.
Any suggestions what to do next? Getting FAs, trading Rajon, Lin, or anyone else?
