How to improve vol. 2

I'd like you to give me some advice on picking free agents.
To make it short, my team is really weak at SG/SF, but I still lead in roto league (35% of slots left).
Blocks, treys, FG & FT% should be improved; I don't care much about points (due to considerable margin).

Some interesting FAs...
Guards: Jordan Crawford, Henderson, Ridnour, Foye
Forwards: Faried, Dunleavy, Novak, Booker
Cs: Gooden, Biyombo, Varejao, Bass

Just to name a few. My team:
Rondo, Irving, Lin, Holiday, Isaiah Thomas
Harden, George, Joe-J
Love, Millsap, Boozer, Pekovic, M. Gasol

I'm planning to drop Thomas for Faried/Biyombo, and pick Varejao when he returns. What are your suggestions?

Drop Rubio instead, he's out for the season. I'm still a Gerald Henderson believer, but Booker is the safe bet. He won't give you 3's, though, and he'll hurt you at FT%.

I do not own Rubio. Instead, I dropped Isaiah and added Luke Ridnour, maybe I'll rethink this later.
But for now, I was offered Ryan Anderson for Kyrie Irving. Should I do this?

yes

your team is fine at sg/sf, not weak at all

I have to consider this Anderson - Irving trade. Ryan helps in 3pters, but his FG% is far from outstanding.
Maybe I should sign J.J. Redick or Evan Turner, they should fit better than Holiday (I know, steals are great, but .420 FG%?)

I'd rather have Ridnour. His numbers should go up now that he's running the show and he's almost as good a FT shooter as JJ anyways. You still get solid threes and FT with Ridnour, and then on top of that you'll get assists and steals.

Kyrie and Anderson is a toss up too me. It definitely would boost you up the standings in 3s though.

Sorry about the Rubio comment. I somehow misread Rondo as Rubio.

ryan anderson is a slam dunk over irving

it's the classic case of misperceptions. irving fits the prototypical media-influenced "zomg he's so good" player. anderson is the uberefficient unassuming white guy. not until you look at the #s do you realize anderson is elite, 2nd round status, while irving is good but not great, late 3rd round. toss in the fact u just picked up ridnour for free and it's a snap accept imo

My only concern is that my trade partner occupies 2nd place, right behind me, and he also tries to catch me in FG%... Kyrie provides that. But outside this context, Anderson seems to be worth even more... plus, I wanted to acquire him for last two months.
Thanks for all your responses, Mr Floppymoose, Bankshot and Apathy. Your advice is always appreciated.

Edit: I came up with another possibility: Irving + Boozer for Anderson and KG (blocks and FT% highly appreciated). Do you consider it a good idea?

The danger with Anderson is that Howard leaves and leaves Ryan without all those open threes. Just something to think about. If your leage trade deadline is after the real one, you might want to wait that out.

i think anderson keeps 80-90% of his value even in worst-case atom-bomb howard-goes-out-the-door scenario

I ended up trading Kyrie Irving for Ryan Anderson, no Boozer for KG occured.
The only problem: who should I drop to pick up Varejao when he returns? He definitely will be worth it.

dun see how it can't be thomas

do you really need varejao tho? you're stacked at pf/c. you don't need his rebounds. i'd explore a trade for javale mcgee. you could use varejao's blocks, but he's not a huge shot-blocker. getting him is fine but id def explore a trade utilizing your PF/C depth. id take booker over varejao and prolly faried too

I'm back with another issue.
My goal is to improve FG% and FT% as much as it's possible, and I can sacrifice few cats to achieve it (points, steals, maybe even assists). Few players in my roster (Ridnour, Holiday, Lin) miss too many shots every night. Which one of them should I drop?
Available noteworthy FAs are:
Dragic, Dunleavy, Bass, DeAndre Jordan, Gooden, Sessions, James Johnson, Favors

Btw, Nikola Pekovic is injured and I consider dropping him too. Good idea?

Drop Ridnour for Dragic for sure.

I'd hold on Pek, especially since you want FG%. Gooden's a bit better at FT% but Pek has a big advantage over him in FG. Pek should be back either today or the next game so I'd just hold onto him.

We still don't know when Pekovic returns. I did Dragic/Ridnour thing, and also dropped Nikola for Dunleavy. I guess it's a safe move, because there are few players available in case Dunleavy fails (good ol' Tony Allen, Varejao and Pek when they return).
What are your opinions on Pachulia, Bass, Gerald Henderson, Tristan Thompson?

The first three guys I don't really care for. I like Pachulia the most out of those three though.

TT I like. He's getting the minutes and will continue to. He can give you a nice boost in the big man stats if you can take the FT hit (he's terrible there).

That being said, if Eric Gordon is still available in your league, go drop Dun for him NOW.

Eric Gordon's owner hasn't changed since the draft day. So I have to manage with the guys I listed now or earlier in this thread.
I'll keep on checking Varejao and Pekovic progress, maybe reconsider Dunleavy (adding Pachulia instead?)
Thank you again, Bank Shot.

Attention! Red alert!
Someone dropped MONTA ELLIS in my league... is he playing THAT bad?!

Heck no, he's not putting up the same numbes as in GS but he is no where near droppable. Waiver asap.
