Channing Frye?

Post#1 » by Komodo » Tue Mar 13, 2012 9:40 pm

20-team dynasty league
H2H
standard 9 cats

what's your take on Frye? His %'s have dropped 3 straight years now. But he still offers an intriguing mix of 3s, blocks and is passable for points/boards while hurting your FG%.

Is he a decent option at PF/C for the next 2 years? Or is he just going to continue his decline? Or will he provide much of the same production?

crappy dynasty option who could blow at any point

decent short-term fill-in that has major value to the right contending team

Assuming Nash is gone, I'm not a fan. I could see him struggling for minutes on a Nash-less Suns that are in full blown rebuild mode.

Frye played alot with the Suns' 2nd unit in 09-10 (with Dragic at the point a lot) and that's been his best year. But he's very volatile and a risky play. Lopez might not be back next year. Even if Markieff gets a lot of minutes at starting PF next year then Frye can still get a good 25+ minutes as the 3rd big and backup PF/C. That role is still appealing because he could focus on being an instant offense off the bench type.
