This is a keeper league...but I also want the player to be productive this upcoming season. Taking in mind Boguts injury woes..and Houston's lack of bigs...I think Asik has the capability to put up huge rebounding and blocking stats...
I would go Asik.

Assuming Bogut is healthier than he has been the last few years I don't see Asik approaching Bogut's block numbers. Despite the concerns over his health I'd take Bogut...

Both of their blocks should be good. But both of their FT% are utterly horrendous. I'd take a flyer on the next big.

Asik is way too terrible offensively to even consider taking him IMO. What's your upside, 6-10-2 with an awful FT%? He's basically Deandre Jordan with weaker finishing ability. Not worth it.

I think he is a sleeper candidate to be a beast from a defensive fantasy standpoint. His stats extrapolate to be an elite blocker, stealer, and rebounder. There is no other big man on houston. Ben Wallace-like stats.?

He hasn't shown the stamina to play huge minutes, and he fouls a ton. Even if you double his numbers (taking him to basically 30 MPG, keeping his per minute rate the same, which is no lock), you're at 10.6 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Ben Wallace at his peak was good for like 12 boards, 1.5 steals and at least 2 blocks and as high as 3. He's just as awful as Ben Wallace in the other areas too. Plus Donatas Motiejunas will probably get decent minutes, he's a much better scorer and they could go with a platoon-type situation.
You can find big men that have defensive value without sacrificing so much offense.

Meh I dunno, I feel like every year there are guys who are expected to see an increase in minutes and people assume theyll put up great numbers, but sometimes it doesnt work that way. I could see Asik averaging 6ppg, 8rpb and 2 bpg, which is solid but not mindblowing by any means, hes also an awful FT shooter. Bogut is superior if healthy IMO.

Asik fouls too much. Bogut by a mile. If he stays healthy he's in for a huge season.
