This is my first time playing ESPN H2H Categories. I've played H2H Points before, but obviously the value of certain players is different under each system. My league uses FG%, FT%, 3PM, REB, AST, STL, BLK, PTS.

I'm try to establish a good strategy for the upcoming draft, and I'm wondering if basing my picks in part on my league's player rater (based on last year stat's) is a good strategy. For example, Brandon Jennings and Serge Ibaka are ranked 10th and 11th based on last year's stats. Dwyane Wade is ranked #27. Dwight Howard is ranked #56 because of his horrid FT%. I'm no fantasy expert, but somehow drafting Serge Ibaka over D12 just doesn't feel right. Can I put stock into these ratings?

Dwight Howard is ranked that low because the H2H rankings are made based on a strategy of trying to win all categories every week. And because Dwight kills every team's overall FT% and turnovers and provides nothing with 3 pointers and assists, his value is dropped. But a lot of teams in H2H don't bother trying to win every category and instead try to build their teams around dominating just enough categories. If you can dominate 5 out of your 8 categories every week, you can live with always losing the other 3.

I have Dwight in my dynasty league and have done pretty well with this strategy. I loaded up on defensive big men / players like Josh Smith and Joakim Noah and also start as many PGs as possible to do well on assists and steals. But I also haven't won a title in four years so

Deron Williams, Josh Smith should be there instead of Nash, Jennings. Skeptical on Pierce and Nash since both might have limited playing time (Boston has a deep team and Lakers want to limit Nash's minutes).
