Keeper Trade Question

I'm in a keeper league, where the the cost of keeping Rose is a 3rd round pick and the cost of keeping Wade is a 1st round pick ((it's a bit more complicated than this) what do you think of the following trade?
Rose + Dudley for Wade + World Pace?
I'd be trading Rose, and would essentially be going for an all-in strategy with this trade.
Also what are your thoughts on Kidd and J.R. Smith? Should I be looking to move them? With Kidd I'm concerned of a second-half drop-off and I wonder how the return of Shumpert will affect Woodson's leash with J.R. Smith...

My bad, the league has some realgm members in it (vast majority are non-realgm members) so I was hesitant to post the entire roster and league rules as to out myself, but upon review, whatever, I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing (league has been around for a number of years, we switched to keepers starting last year and I won it all) so if they do stumble on this post, oh well...
League Rules:
- Head-to-Head
- 20 Teams
- 3 Keepers (Keeper costs are a bit convoluted, basically keeper costs = draft pick in whatever round player was drafted in, and each player is assigned a point value based on where they were drafted and how long they have been a keeperwhich matters because the total point value of your 3 keepers must be less than or equal to 25).
- Positions: PG, G, SG, SF, PF, F, C, UTIL, BN, BN
- Categories (standard): FG%, FT%, PTS, 3PTM, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO
- Move Limit: 66
Team:
(Current standing: 4th place, leading division)
Roster:
Carmelo Anthony - 1st Round - 11 pts
Al Jefferson - 2nd Round - 10 pts
Wesley Matthews - 4th Round - 8 pts
Jared Dudley - 5th Round - 6 pts (Free agent pick up)
Andrei Kirilenko - 5th Round - 6 pts
J.R. Smith - 6th Round - 6 pts
Chris Kaman - 6th Round - 6 pts (Traded Shved and Jermaine O'neal for him earlier in the year, mixed results)
Jason Kidd - 7th Round - 5 pts
Nikola Vucevic - 8th Round - 5 pts (Free agent pick up)
Jamaal Tinsley - Undrafted Round - 5 pts (I rotate this roster spot)
INJURY RESERVE: Derrick Rose - 3rd Round - 8 pts (we have a manual injury reserve, I have Rose's rights and can remove him from IR whenever but he is not occupying an active roster spot)
---
So here's the dilemma, my team is doing well. Derrick Rose makes for an excellent keeper because he was drafted in the 3rd round. I can't keep Carmelo, Rose, and Jefferson (total point value exceeds 25) next year.
I am considering going all in by trading Rose + Dudley for Wade + World Peace (this would be an inter-division trade).
Any thoughts?

Rose is one of the best keepers in your league. Trading him is dumb.
Kidd is putting up 1st/early 2nd round value and is a cheap keeper. Yeah, he's old and risky, but it's a 20-team league. Suck it up.
Stop tripping about your keepers. Rose, Melo, anyone is fine. You're in 4th place (though you didn't say how far behind 1st you are) w/ Rose set to come back at the Break. Play to win.

Thanks.
I guess what it boils down to is if trading Rose would guarantee you a 50%+ shot at winning the championship would you do it?
I'm currently 4 games back of the #1 spot, division winners get an automatic playoff spot, I'm 5.5 games ahead of the second place person in my division and think that regardless of what happens I should be able to win the division.
What has had me a bit double-minded on Rose is that:
1) I'm not sure he'll come back at all this year.
2) Trading him would guarantee me a playoff spot and a very strong chance to repeat.
I think for now I'll wait.
This deal will be on the table anytime I want it, so I'll revisit this closer to the trade deadline when teams have been officially eliminated from the playoffs and it's more likely that someone will pony up a short-term fortune to get Rose as a keeper...
In regards to Kidd and J.R. I've been very happy with their production, especially relative to where they were drafted, I was just looking for second opinions given the impending returns of Amar'e and Shumpert...

lol someone tried that one year (failed at it), but ever since then there's been a 4 moves per week limit

66 moves total 24 weeks (counting playoffs) comes out to around 2.75 moves per week... I usually save a full 12 moves for the 3 playoff weeks and then just use the remaining 54 as required

If anything Rose is looking like a strong bet to return early
Tom Thibodeau said that Derrick Rose is doing "more and more" as he recovers from knee surgery.
Rose apparently did more on Monday than he has in practice with his teammates, which is obviously good news. He's running and shooting, but the team wants him to be able to practice without feeling pain or soreness the next day. Although the Bulls continue to say Rose is without a timetable, the expectation is that he'll be back right around the All-Star break.

Hmm I saw the same report earlier, the all-star break is week 16-17 in fantasy I believe which leaves about 4 weeks in the regular fantasy season for Rose to round into shape / turn into a solid fantasy contributor, definitely possible, not sure how probable...
What do you think of Pau Gasol this year?

I play in a league with 12 move limit
But seriously, with 54 moves u can win close to every week

Oh yeah it definitely helps if you're smart about it, I picked up Ekpe Udoh on Saturday because I saw I was close in blocks. He managed 2 blocks that game and low and behold at the end of the week I won blocks by a grand total of 2.
I guess that's another reason why I'm waffling on what to do with Rose, I'm not sure if the the upgrade I'd get from going from Dudley to World Peace would offset the flexibility I'd lose from no longer having a designated roster spot to add-and-drop players.

What do you think of Pau Gasol this year?
I think his value has no place to go but up, so am considering a move of Al Jefferson for Gasol+ (possibly Manu if I can convince the other owner)...
I don't think there's going to be much of an adjustment period. His rehab has been going extremely well. I think he could come back early and be decent, but the Bulls are just playing it safe. Every update has been positive. He's very young. I don't think this injury is a big deal. I think he comes back and puts up 20/7 right from the get-go.
If Gasol doesn't get traded he could skirt ~t60 value. He used to be a FG% beast but he's not going to be that anymore. He's never gonna get the post touches he needs in LA and he's a 40% jump shooter. Never been a great rebounder. His assists should go up. I think 13/8/4/48%/1+ block is best case. That'll play, but it's not elite.
If he gets traded, though? Top 15, top 20.
And I don't think Dudley to MWP is an upgrade. Dudley is t30 the past month. Peace is 37th.

Dudley is playing exceptionally well, but I think eventually he is going to revert back to his 2011-2012 averages. Which are not enough 3PTM and SPG for my liking (FG% is a moot point for me, I have so many jump-shooters that I can't rely on winning it week to week)... Metta's entire physique has changed, I feel more comfortable with him keeping up his current level of play than Dudley.
20-7 seems a bit optimistic for Rose but I hope you're right, the Bulls are indeed handling him very cautiously, but from what I can recall (and maybe I'm just misremembering) with other players who have returned from ACL injuries there's a bit of "lag time" between the player's return and their return to form... Long-term I'm confident Rose will be fine, but I guess we'll see what happens short term.
Thanks for the take on Gasol, I'll probably offer something up for him later in the week...

So I'm revisiting this idea... There is a team in my division who I can probably get Conley + Dirk + 1 of Gallo or Nelson from if I give up Rose and "filler" (my "filler" isn't really filler though, I'd have to part with Rose, Dudley, and someone else (Kaman?))...
I'm a big Conley fan but am not so high on Dirk or Gallo... Nelson is having a good season but always seems to get hurt.
My team's chugging along, but as expected the offers are coming in more frequently now

Not much to say other than that I think giving up Rose is a terrible idea.
Top 15 long-term keepers cannot be replaced. Absolutely untouchable. Don't even think about it unless you're getting another top-15 keeper back.

Well Conley + Ray Allen just got traded for Monta Ellis + Andre Miller so this potential deal is out the window...
I see what you're saying Apathy. I guess it's just that there's 2 teams I can beat but would have to be considered the severe underdog against, and since I won't be able to keep Carmelo + Rose + Jefferson next year it's tempting to go all-in now given how close I am to a repeat...
Oh well, back to the drawing board... The manager with Deron Williams isn't doing too hot, I'll see what else he has on his roster but I think the only other players of note that he has are Varejao (injury is starting to get a bit on the concerning side), and Joe Johnson (meh)...
