I've read his reports and I'm still not sure if it was a good idea stashing him.
I dropped Anderson Varejao bc im trying to fight for the playoff spot. I'm not taking a huge hit by dropping him, because im getting enough rebounds. I have a feeling he wont be back until March. I just need the points and steal category to cover him.
Anyways, my concern is what do you guys think about Andrew Bynum's return?
You think he will come back in few weeks? You think he will put up big numbers?

Re: Andrew Bynum?? Stash?
i feel andy v is a better stash candidate that bynum.
If bynum is indeed healthy and playing focused this season, hes pretty much a top 2 center in the league. but given his situation and past track record, hes a big risk to hold onto this season. he has yet to suit up for phili, so conditioning obviously needs to be considered on his road to recovery. and the lakers being my life long team, i can tell you bynum does not have a basketball first mentality. And though reports are saying he feels less and less pain in his knees as the weeks progress, my personal opinion is he wont be back until after all star break, and even then, theres always a strong possibility he'll miss more time.
in short, the upside for bynum is absolutely fantastic for fantasy basketball, but the risk of him not coming back to form this season seems greater than the rewards involved.

o lol sorry bro
it was just a general question about what ppl think about andrew bynum
My C's are D12, Asik, JJ Hick, and I dropped Varejao and picked up Bynum
I'm pretty much unbeatable in rebounds, so I can afford to drop Varejao. But yea, I just wanted to know what you guys think about Bynum. Will he put up decent numbers when he comes back. When do you guys think he will come back. Do you think he will re-injure himself after a week or 2 coming back.
I've def thought about the things Levity said, but like Apathy, I think Bynum is a better stash than Varejao. Who knows when Varejao will actually come back...he just had surgery and it does take time to fully heal. The reg season is almost and Cavs have no chance in making it to playoffs. Who knows if Varejao is going to even play 25+ min a game.

Re: Andrew Bynum?? Stash?
In general I am high on injured stars set to return. When their per-game value is ~t30 per game they're worth it.
Bynum doesn't have a strong track record of being a t30 guy, but in Philly it's expected he'll be the man, as well he should be. And everyone in the world knows his injury history so there's little chance he's coming back unless he's truly healthy. And like the poster above me said, both sides have every incentive in the world to see him back on the court.
Varejao is a lot riskier for two reasons: one, he doesn't have the track record Bynum has of performing as a t40-50 guy when healthy. He really just has this season. Every other season he's been t80 or worse.
Secondly, he got injured later. Cle is in pure tank mode. I'm not as worried about him being healthy and Cle opting to shut him down than I am about the normal readjustment period. Almost no one comes back and immediately starts playing 35+ mpg, AND producing at their baseline while doing it. It often takes 2-5 weeks. If it takes that long for Varejao, the season is essentially over.

Re: Andrew Bynum?? Stash?
I was faced with this scenario earlier in the week. Though Varejao played well above his t80 pick last year too it was just no where near this ridiculous t15 he's done this season. I figured it wouldn't be impossible for him to return to that level of play after the injury but how quickly wasn't something I gave much thought. I was reluctant at first but Apathy's logic is sound. Conditioning is going to be his biggest obstacle, his game is build around out hustling his opponent.
I just didn't want to go all in on Bynum with so many unknowns. But I did it anyway because fantasy just isn't fun if you're not taking a gamble.
