Fantasy league that doesn't count sit-outs as games played?

I'm a fantasy newb and play in a fantasy league hosted by some of my friends on Yahoo. Is there a setting on Yahoo or other platform that won't count games where a player doesn't suit up as a game played?

Many of us in the league don't have time to check the roster each evening, so it would be helpful if we didn't lose games when a player doesn't play.

You can try setting the Weekly Deadline to Monday so that the roster is locked in for the week, the result means you have to set your roster once a week at the cost of being able to swap players mid week. So if you have Chris Paul in your PG position at the weekly deadline, you cannot move him from that slot till next week. Like wise a guy on your bench, he is set to the bench the entire week.

So does that mean if CP3 doesn't play due to the coach resting him (or is even injured) that won't count as a game played?

I always hear this excuse from newbs. Not trying to lecture you, but you can set your lineup for weeks, even months, in a few minutes. The only thing you need to be mindful of is injuries. If you see one of your players go down, drop him, pickup someone else, and re-set your lineup accordingly.

Fantasy is really not as time consuming as people make it out to be.

I dont think that is what the OP means. The way I understood it is that the league he is in probably has a set amount of games that the each position (like PG or Util) can play in a year (Ive never liked this set up so Ive never played in one, but I have seen them) and if you have a guy in that position with a scheduled game that day, but then the guy sits out, it still counts that as a game played for that position because his team played.

Exactly. You have to log in before each and every tip off to ensure your guy hasn't been taken out of the lineup. Even then I've had instances where a player is listed as in the lineup, then 15 minutes after tipoff he is listed as out.

In yahoo, if they don't play, they don't count for basketball, even if in the lineup. I can't remember if this is the case for ESPN, but I only did H2H there so it didn't matter as much.
