So very early into the season I traded Trae Young, Robert Covington, and Deandre Ayton for Anthony Davis, Andrew Wiggins, and Ricky Rubio (in case you're wondering how I have both Davis and Harden). I felt my team was pretty solid, but I seem to keep losing match ups (standard 9-cat), or if I do win it's like 5-4. Any advice on players to pick up or what kinds of players I should be targeting in trades? Thanks in advanced

In general, look at the categories you are losing. Try to find free agents to bolster those cats while not sacrificing the ones you are winning.

I'm guessing you struggle with TOs and low Fg% with sporadic REB.... And 3FGm is weakih though ft STL BLK PT's....solid

How many teams in the league?

The best strategy is to be able to "punt" certain categories instead of trying to win them all. You only need to win 5 categories to win when it comes down to it so you need to focus on at least 5 categories to win. Winning 5-4 is absolutely fine, just make it into the playoffs and if you are super strong in 5 cats, you win, it doesn't matter if you beat the other guy by 6 7 or 8. So if for instance, you get players that are really good at rebounding and blocked shots, but suck at FT. Build upon winning rebounding and blocked shots and 3 other categories. It's not saying to actively look for low FT%, just ignore the category, you will be surprised at how player rankings change if you remove a category for them.

If you try to be a jack of all trades, you will lose. Having said that, it is difficult to do that after the draft, and you are generally stuck with what you have, but for waiver wire adds and streaming options, look to win those 5 cats, so for instance, if you have a player that does a tiny bit of everything but not outstanding in one area, you can drop him and ad a player that is hot in say, Blocks and Steals to help guarantee winning in those 2 cats rather then adding in middling stats across the board that wont put you over in certain categories.
