Tips for draft

Post#1 » by duppyy » Sun Oct 13, 2024 7:12 pm

I took a hiatus last season and didn’t join a fantasy league my friends do every year (about 14 people) but I’m back this season.

We do an auction draft (which is more fun than a snake draft imo and better)

Typically the top tier players for like $90+ but I tend to save up money and tried to build a balanced team and sometimes gamble on rookies but this draft class doesn’t seem that great.

Are there any good sleepers I should keep an eye on for my draft?

Depends on if keeper league. I like Stephon Castle but he may not pay off this year. I like Deni Avdija and Dereck Lively as late-round sleepers, although Lively seems to be going around 10th round. So is Zach Edey, who is another good prospect both for immediate pay-off and keeper leagues.

Generally I tend to avoid the no-upside known quantities who tend to get over-drafted on rep. I also hate guys who you never know if they will show up (Kawhi, Embiid, Kyrie). I'd rather have a younger guy who will log the minutes. And I overweight PGs and C's, because they are impossible to find later on if you need one.
