Ben Gordon for...?

Post#1 » by L-Burna89 » Mon Jan 7, 2008 4:21 am

16 team league, 15 cats. Somehow ive ended up with way too many guards on my team and continually have to sit one or two every night because I just don't have the spots. Meanwhile, I don't have much in the way of bigs at all......So im looking to try and trade one of my many guards for a big.

Here are all my guards....

Jason Kidd (NJ - PG)
Ben Gordon (Chi - SG)
Jamaal Tinsley (Ind - PG)
Ronnie Brewer(Uta - SG,SF)
Kirk Hinrich (Chi - PG,SG)
Cuttino Mobley (LAC - SG)
Martell Webster (Por - SG,SF)
Mike Conley (Mem - PG,SG)
Louis Williams (Phi - PG,SG)
Carlos Arroyo (Orl - PG)
Anthony Johnson (Atl - PG)
(I also have Josh Smith, who is eligible at SG/SF/PF)

I was thinking of using Gordon as bait, because hes a big name and is on a major hot streak of late. I need some advice though on what kind of bigs I should be targeting with him....or maybe if I should look to trade one of my other guards?

Selling high on Gordon right now is a great idea. He is now coming off the bench and his only responsibility is to score.

When he starts and has to play D, he doesn't do so well. When he comes off the bench and just starts shooting he does a lot obetter. Plus he probably has a little chip on his shoulder from being put as the 6th man again. Its also his contract year, kinda. Restricted. So that will effect his play, good or bad, not sure.

One thing about Gordon is he is real streaky, by the month, not by the game. So he'll have his streak of 6-8 good games and then fall off.

I would try to package Gordon and Tinsley for a mid range big (i.e. Al Harrington, Kaman, Aldridge) or even use Gordon and a semi-superstar, like Kidd for a superstar big(Duncan, Nowitzki, Boozer). Dirk and Booz are on the low right now and would be good to pick up, you know they'lll play well during the stretch run. Duncan is also being rested one last time before the stretch run and hes automatic to turn it on in the end.
