One of the guys in my league just made this trade:

Parker/Boozer/Hinrich/Redd for Lebron/Butler/Roy.

I'm sitting at first place right now, 10.5 games ahead of the guy who just got Lebron.

He suggested Butler/Manu for Deron, I said I'd think about it.

I'm slightly worried that he's got a plan--I'm dominant in assists since I have Paul, Williams, and Baron, but I just got rid of Mo Williams in a trade. I'm worried that I'll be sacrificing one of my strongest categories (the other being rebounds--Howard, Okafor, Marion, Kaman are all contributing nicely there).

Am I worrying over nothing? This kind of 2 for 1 deal seems almost too good to be true.

My roster, after the trade, would be:

G: Paul, Ginobili, Johnson, Davis, McGrady (I have Terry, but he'd be dropped).
F: Richardson, Marion, Nowitzki, Miller, Butler
C: Kaman, Howard, Okafor

Thoughts?

i'd go for it. Butler has more "value" then Deron. you lose assists but you're already strong in that category. Butler has been playing like a 10 player plus you get Manu.

if Joe Johnson is the Johnson on your roster, i'd try to include him in the deal and see if you can get more

wow... i would think that trade would get veto'd. I have deron and i'd do it in a heartbeat. You could always trade Ginobili for another above avg PG if your wrorried about assists.

Actually, I'm running some numbers right now--there's a dropoff of .2apg if I take the deal.

Plus, I've got McGrady coming back soon (I hope), so that'll make up for the difference.

As much as I like Deron you gotta do whats best for your team, and that trade would totally be worth giving up Deron. Although I bet it gets vetoed right away. It doesn't seem very fair.

i would think deron for butler straight up is pretty fair. If you do want to do this trade i suggest including someone else if you want Manu otherwise like Edcoche said its a lock to get veto'd. I would if it was my league and i havent done that once all season.

That's a great trade for you. I actually think Caron Butler's worth more than Deron Williams alone.

Butler AND Manu for Deron is murder and it should honestly be vetoed.

Best part is--the other guy suggested it--and is the league commissioner.
