players who are going to "shut it down"

Post#1 » by pdxblazers92087 » Wed Jan 9, 2008 7:20 pm

who do you guys think is going to take an early vacation this year due to injury? I think brandon roy takes off more time towards the playoffs if the blazers are out of play off contention. Other ones

Arenas- dont think hes coming back
Wade - 100% chance he doesnt play the last couple weeks
Brand - if the clippers are out of the playoffs chances are hes going to sit it out.
TJ Ford - if he does come back I bet he takes the last few weeks off.

if i had to pick one it would be brandon roy with wade a very close 2nd. The others dont evne come close since theres a moderate / strong chance they dont play at all this season. If they do who knows how long it will take to adjust again.

let me look up my source... oh yeah its called common sense. If the heat are for sure out of the playoffs why would you continue to put a load on a player with multiple injuries body? If anything his playing time takes a drastic cut.

Would it be wise to pick up Brand. I agree with you that, with the Clippers slipping, Brand might sit out the entire year and heal before coming back this year for no reason.

depends on how deep your league is and whether your weekly or day by day. In most of the weekly leagues i'm in he was picked up either late in the draft or during the first week (no need to rotate players during the week). It depends on how bad your team is as well. If your in first place with no immediate needs I would and just hope / pray he comes back and avgs something like 15/10 for a while then trade him.

good thread

Brand does seem like he wants to be back this season pretty badly
