Yahoo League "No Protests" question **Updated ?**

The commish in my league is a shady bastard and he extended the trade deadline. By itself, there is nothing really wrong with that however he used his power as commish as force a trade where he receives Melo and Amare for Duncan and Prince. The guy he is trading with never sets his roster and without any doubt, doesn't even know that his team is involved with a trade. As you could imagine, a few people are upset about this.

He changed the trade reject time from '2 days' to 'No Protests' and I don't quite know what that means. The commish, who sucks badly as fantasy basketball is currently in the 8th spot, and is 9.5 games behind the 6th spot, the last playoff spot. He really doesn't stand much of a chance at making the playoffs b/c there is less than 2 weeks left before the playoffs start but this is BULL$#|^ nonetheless.

Anybody know much about the whole 'no protests' thing?

It basically means once you make a trade, it goes through no matter what anyone thinks of it.

No protests means that no one can veto the trade and it will automatically go through.

Thats BS for the commish to do that and without letting people know before he made that change. If money was involved, id probably hire a hitman to take him out.

Well that sucks! At least the guy will only get about 1 or 2 days on this weeks matchup as well as next week to use Melo and Amare before the playoffs begin. It will be pretty difficult for him to catch the guy who is 9.5 games ahead of him for the last spot.

I am glad that this is not a money league. I don't get involved with money leagues if I do not personally know the commissioner, who then invites people into the league who he personally knows. Therefore everyone pays up and no one needs to worry about BS like this going on.

Lastly, I am playing the person in the 6th spot this week. I am beating him 6 - 3 and I could beat him worse. Which would make the 9.5 game gap more narrow. Should I bench some players so I don't beat him as bad? I am in 1st place by only 1.5 games and I want the #1 seed. Last season I had the #2 seed and made it to the finals. Surprisingly, it was a tie. The #1 seed won the league by default b/c he was seeded higher than me. I was so pissed by that and don't want that to happen again.

Play your roster the way you normally would. Dont be as sketchy as the other people.

My first year in fantasy I joined a commish league. The commish was in 8th or 9th place and decided to make trades with the 3 last place teams who's owners obviously hadn't been checking. Im talking rediculous trades, FA pick ups for superstars. The ironic part is that, in spite of his absolutly jacked team, he ended up losing in the semis and getting 4th place.

But still, lesson learned, don't join leagues with a commish unless the commish is a personal friend of yours.
