I would have no problem taking Bogut in that situation.

Blocks are the biggest question mark for him. Only last year did he average more than a block a game, (after putting up just 0.5 the year before) but it's not like Horford was swatting two a game. With Horford, first of all I think is offensive upside is overrated on this board. Second, I certainly don't think he fulfils what upside he has, in the 08/09 season. Neither of them really have any plays run for them on their respective teams, but last year Bogut averaged 14 to Horfords 10.

I'd take Bogut and hope that he keeps his block numbers up.

Points, rebounds and blocks should all be in favor of Bogut.

Rebounds 50-50 perhaps.

In terms of a 9-cat league, I like Horford too.

I'm on the Bogut bandwagon, he's had a better year, every year he's been in the league.

I like Bogut also. I think with the addition of Ridnour, he will get more scoring oppurtunities.

Bogut, A.J makes a good point. Mo Wil gone, Ridnour in means he has a pass first point and should get more looks.

I don't know about that, unless they start running some plays for him. Williams is a three point threat, which at least opened things up for him a bit last year. I don't know if his stats improve at all from last years, but they don't really need to in order to be beat Horford.

Skiles has stated that he'll be looking to get Bogut much more involved. Acquiring Ridnour was a step in that direction. With him and Sessions, you have two guys looking to get others involved. IF you look at Skiles in Chicago when he had Curry, Curry was given tons of opportunities in limited minutes.

Also, last season, from January on, Bogut was given the ball and put up 16 and 10 on legit percentages. I'd expect that if not better numbers this coming season. Horford will have an edge in rebounding, but everything else should be in favor of Bogut.

I will take Boguts.
I think with Yi out, he will carry all the rebounding load.
And surprising blocking ability.

Horford is good but he is not that good in points.

That's good to hear. I was just trying to show that even based on reasonable projections, I'd still take Bogut over Horford.

On a little side note, is Ridnour slated to start for the bucks? Is he gonna share time with Ramon Sessions or is looking like he's gonna be getting ~30+ mins a game? Has anyone heard anything?

Does anybody know how Skiles handles his big men ? I'm wondering if Bogut will excel under Skiles

horford is going to have to score more and will likely be given more scoring opportunies since childress is gone. horford might be the high risk high reward type player when comparing these 2.

bogut is a safer bet though.

simple

if you care about FT% and don't need many blocks: get Horford
if you don't care about FT% and would like some blocks: get Bogut
