In a long time keeper league.

At the end of the season my roster was:

D.Williams / R.Felton
K.Bryant / J.Johnson / J.Richardson / B.Gordon
G.Wallace / M.Redd / R.Gay
C.Bosh / C.Frye / A.Blatche
E.Okafor / S.Williams / G.Oden

At the end of the season, each coach has to protect 13 and expose 2 players. Then we have a draft with all the rookies and waiver wire players.

I exposed Williams and Frye.

I have the #6 pick in our upcoming draft.

I traded B.Gordon for the #5 overall pick.
I traded the #5 pick (so long as Kevin Love is on the board) and G.Wallace for the #1 pick and A.Thornton.

With the #1 I will draft Beasley. With the #6 I hope to draft Westbrook.

My new look roster:

Thoughts?

Based on numbers alone, I don't really like the Gordon for 5 trade by itself.

Beasley should prove to be as valuable as Wallace, purhaps as soon as next year, plus he's got a clean slate injury wise.

In the end, I'm looking at it as Gordon for Thornton. No one really knows where Gordon is going to be, and on that I think both trades were worth it.

I paired it off as:

Westbrook Vs Gordon
While Gordon might be a 20ppg type guy with good ft%, that's about as good as he is going to get. He's never going to be a 5+apg or a 5+rpg sort of guy. If anything, he might end up a 6th man with limited mins and a dimenished role. Worse case he leaves the NBA for the Euro dollars.

Westbrook has Wade like potential IMO. Of course, being a rookie, it's a risk that he'll even make it in the NBA, but being a face of the Thunder along with Durant makes me think he's going to be given every chance.

Wallace Vs Thornton
Both are very similar players and can fill up a stat sheet and push tripple doubles. With Brand and Maggette now gone, I see Thornton really stepping up like Gay did last season. I love Crash, but the missed games are killer. I expect that over the next 5 years, Wallace will miss a lot more games than Thornton does. Thornton is also a safer bet from the stripe.

Then it comes down to the #1 (Beasley) Vs the #5 (Love)
I like Love, but Beasley is that much more dynamic and is a potential 20/10/4/2/1 type guy with great %'s. Like Z-Bo if Z-Bo blocked shots. Love will be a role player next to Big Al.

I think the only questionable part of the two deals will be if Westbrook can make it in the NBA and if Gordon lucks out and is traded some where like Utah where he could be their starting 2 guard adn find his groove.
