Money Leagues?

I am interested in stepping it up this year and putting my money where my mouth is so to say.

I want to play in a money league, preferably on Yahoo.

Has anyone joined one with random people over the net before?

1. How does the holding of the money generally work. Surely can't trust people to just pay up when they lose can you?

2. Is there somewhere where I could find a reliable league to join?

I'm only going to do this if I'm sure it's safe.
